Guns In America

This Thread is in response to Obamas' criticism of Americans need to be armed.

So long as Americans have the right to bear arms this country will be a Democracy/Republic. Having arms gives one the option to change the political system in the country. To defend your freedom. The government can push a lot down Americans throat so long as the people bear arms. People will go to sleep on the government because they know they have the means to change the system if they so desire. Once arms are eliminated because the government no longer trust the people, people will no longer feel that they control their destiny and revolt will take place if the government over steps its bounds. So in conclusion one might say that having arms helps keep the political process in the country stable.

True
The guns are to protect us from the government, if it comes to that.

Let's face it...Obama (nor any President) will be able to ban gun ownership.

Just window dressing by neo-cons trying to scare you.

End of story.

That being said, getting bullets may not be protected by the 2nd Amendment

They certainly aren't getting any cheaper.

That reminds me, I better order up some more bulk 9mm before it goes up again.

And as a further addendum, if the Congress attempts legislation to restrict certain types of weapons, you'll have plenty of lead time to stock up. When the assault ban went through a buddy stocked up on 24 chinese made AK-47's. Still packed in grease.

You need a .416 Barrett to really reach out and touch someone from a distance. Here, put your name on the waiting list

It's ironic that those who are so in love with the right to bear arms are so willing to give up other rights in the name of fighting terrorism. If the US government ever felt threatened that any of it's subjects would try to 'change the system', it would simply label said subjects 'domestic terrorists' and ship them off to gitmo, while everyone else cheered.

The right to bear arms is a huge red herring.

This is the way Liberals think about how to get their agenda implemented? By cynically manipulating public perceptions, that is right out of the Liberal play book page 101 as authored by every tin pot dictator from Hitler to Stalin.
