This Thread is in response to Obamas' criticism of Americans need to be armed.

So long as Americans have the right to bear arms this country will be a Democracy/Republic. Having arms gives one the option to change the political system in the country. To defend your freedom. The government can push a lot down Americans throat so long as the people bear arms. People will go to sleep on the government because they know they have the means to change the system if they so desire. Once arms are eliminated because the government no longer trust the people, people will no longer feel that they control their destiny and revolt will take place if the government over steps its bounds. So in conclusion one might say that having arms helps keep the political process in the country stable.

It's ironic that those who are so in love with the right to bear arms are so willing to give up other rights in the name of fighting terrorism. If the US government ever felt threatened that any of it's subjects would try to 'change the system', it would simply label said subjects 'domestic terrorists' and ship them off to gitmo, while everyone else cheered.
