Got my first auto watch today! Vostok Europe K3
By accident I seem to have started collecting watches a few months back but so far only have battery ones. Those include an Accutron Telluride, Skagen, Invicta, and a few others.
An earlier thread here made me decide that I needed to have at least one mechanical variant so I started trying to find something nice and not fancy or expensive. I finally decided on the Vostok Europe K3 Submarine. overstock.com has them pretty cheap right now and reviews of Vostok Europe from multiple locations seem pretty positive. ![]() Interestingly enough... The stock photo above and the Overstock web site show that it is a 31 jewel movement, but mine states 32? The stock photo also shows serial# XXX/999 whereas mine is XXXX/3000. They are slightly different in color with my base and clasp being silver instead of dark gray... Perhaps they changed the model slightly and didn't update the photo? Anyway, I don't feel I can give an educated review yet, but it look great on front and back, has good weight and I really like it so far. I'm not crazy about the strap (this white stripe is really bright and kind of detracts from the watch) but it isn't a big deal. And, since I don't have a watch winder yet, I guess I'll just have to wear it every day ![]() This does of course mean I'll likely be getting more automatics down the road... But since I'm down to only 1 Porsche, I think I can afford that... Pat

I am a big fan of Russian watches and have a few poljots. Watchuseek.com is a decent watch forum with alot of info and specialy watches from affordable , uniques and then just plan outrageous. The poljot aviators mechanical and auto are great conversation pieces. Look at the gagarin and shargin models.
