Ideas for my Dads 70 B-Day

I'm at a loss--my dad turns 70 in a week. Last year I took him to a great restaurant--we were there for two hours eating good food and drinking even better Manhattans. He needs nothing material--I'm thinking time and lunch is good. I'm open to ideas.

Take him to the Cubs/Brewers home game next Thursday. Gametime 1:30. Beer and dogs at the ballpark. Even if he's not a ball fan. Suprise him.

Make him a picture book of you and him growing up together.

I see these at funerals all the time and all the love in them are half wasted.

We made one for my grandfather last year turning 84. couldn't have been a bigger hit.

One cool aspect was the whole family got into it. My godfather found this pic on a WWII Australian War Memorial website.

For other people reaching milestones I have searched the internet for the top 20 songs from the year he/she was born and compiled them into a CD. Or you could find stuff from around the time they were 15-20 yrs old, such as music, news events, sports events. It's cool to see stuff that one had completely forgotten about, yet will remember well.

Take him tethered sky diving. Or a DE at the local racetrack.
