I have a 2003 540i that I bought close to a year ago. Basically the same car as the 740 with a smaller body and so far, so good. The car is the antithesis of the 911. Heavy, front engined, with a V8 and gobs of torque. A great change to the 911. Sure the BMW's may have issues, but driving one is a thing of beauty. It feels like the car is crafted out of one chunk of solid steel. If you find the right one, you won't be dissapointed.
