The new word of the day is ...
Greenwash
A conspicuously promulgated environmental-friendly label put upon an otherwise (dogmatic) environmental-unfriendly product. As in: - Detroit has greenwashed their new SUV by adding a Hybrid option. - Al Gore has greenwashed his large jet by burning 'biofuel.' - Coffee houses greenwash their disposable cups by adding a "Compostable" label. - Al Gore greenwashes his giant energy-sucking compound thru supposed buying of "carbon credits' . .which he also sells and controls. source; usage in this article: Paul McCartney 'horrified' as his eco car is flown 7,000 miles from Japan . .it just struck me as a great word for these times.
