Do you have a problem with supporting our vets?
Knowing you I'm going to say no, you are all for it. So are you upset because they are not asking you to contribute?

Again your foolish youthful idealism is as visible as a skid mark on tighty whiteys.

How does being against another class warfare tax remotely equate not supporting vets? I know there are several versions of this bill in the works, but I don't quite understand the rush to give a free college education to someone who does three (paid) years in the military AND some versions of the bill want to extend it to their kids. You can already get pretty heavily discounted college education by joining the military. I'd much rather see them just raise military pay and let people decide if they need to go to college or not.

I personally have no problem with a "class warfare tax" as long as it's not my pocket that they are waging war on. Do you really think that the class being "attacked" would give a rats a55 if the proposed tax were on the middle class? Spent some time with a couple of our boys a while back. One was in the service for 5 years, spent 3 of them in Iraq, was headed back for his 4th tour, (not voluntary). He was 23. If he somehow manages to make it back in one piece he deserves whatever the hell he wants.

This bill sucks from the word GO. I support Vets, but don't open the floodgates. This is just another example of giving everything to everyone and haveing everyone pay for everything.

Any person who is an actual combat vet should be exempt from tax EVER. the end.

Stomach,
The top 40% of tax filers pay over 93% of all income taxes now, that's why you should be outraged. Me personally, I pay more income taxes than the average family of four in America even EARNS. Exactly what should be my "fair share"? Please tell me. Do I use more police, fire, flood control, national defense, etc, etc. than the average American family? I don't think so. If everyone had to pay their "fair share", which I define as taking the populations and dividing it into the total federal/state budget, you'd find that the per capita taxes would be more than the average family actually earns. Then people might go "Whow!" what the heII are we spending all this money on? Maybe then we'd start seeing some fiscal restraint somewhere. Obviously that can't happen, but I think it should be a starting point and we adjust from there.

3 Years in and STARTING tour 4.
If the bill is bad we should oppose it on it's merits or lack thereof, not who pays for it.

Instead of taxing millionaires, couldn't they just tax Republicans? Those that voted for the current administration? That would be fair - don't you think?

Close down the Dept. of Education and that savings alone would cover it all and it might even improve test scores in public schools. There should be some law that says the gov't. cannot raise taxes a dime until they've elminated wasteful federal bureaucracies first. But then, if the queen had balls, she'd be king.

Yeah, I should have just voted for Gore or Kerry and guaranteed myself higher taxes sooner rather than later.

No one is against Vets. People are upset that the top 1% income earners are being forced to pay for even more social programs. This is just one more way for punishing the successful.

How about a 10% straight tax, everyone pays this amount of tax no matter how much money they make? We would be awash in money, every program on the docket would be funded and life would be good.
