There's only one pie I'll have with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a cup of coffee:

good ole apple pie. Crumb topping is where its at.

It must be my generation, but hair pie no longer exists, its more like smooth skin pie.

i really love a good thin and crispy pepperoni or mushroom pie myself

Banana cream followed by coconut cream and peach. My Wife makes an excellent apple pie. I've seen people put a slice of Kraft cheese on apple pie, but doesn't do it for me.

Warm Loganberry with French vanilla ice cream.

Acquired taste. Tastes like a cross between chutney and raisins with a hint of sherry or brandy (brandy is what is used, but the mixture is very fruity and sweet).. You wouldn't know there's meat in there and in some recipes it's not.

Mincemeat goes back to Medieval times as a way to preserve meat.

my mom couldn't cook her way out of a wet paper towel...

Pie looks like a better topic for us than brain tumors.

Shoofly is a close second to lemon meringue, but only if the person making it knows what they are doing.

Fresh stake & ale from the butcher shop in Brampton, England.

My mom was a wonderful person but an abysmal cook. One day she complained that the timer on the oven had quit working. I said, "What's the problem? The smoke alarms still work". I was serious. Our call to the dinner table was generally preceded by billowing smoke and mumbled cursing.

That's hilarious. I've been surrounded by the best except for one grandmother and she did OK, but not great. If she were alive in these times, she would take the fifth (amendment and the bottle) and not cook.

Man, I grew up in an area where people shot each other over a territorial rhubarb patch but, I could never stomach it myself. BLECH!

My vote is for cranberry apple pie...gotta be my alltime fave, probably followed closely by raspberry.

The cranapple has a little of both worlds like the strawberry rhubarb. Delicious.
