do i say i DELIGHT or that I WISH? please show me wher i said either....but whatever guys. I was stating my opinion...sorry to offend all you people with such a thing

cmccuist 05-20-2008 10:53 AM

Damn, some of you need to check yourselves. It's not like the guy was Hitler, or Pol Pot, or Ted Bundy. He only killed that one girl.

You may hate the guy's politics. And he was a drunk, cheating, SOB for most of his life, but he's got a freakin' brain tumor!!!

I would never wish for Ted Kenedy to get a brain tumor. I would wish that the people of MA not keep electing him, but he's not the devil.

Dan!

Sharp up, brother! Read before you post. My first response was a "confused" figure - meaning I thought the original post was incomprehensible as in bad taste and lack of empathy. My next post commented on my opinion that, no matter how bad this man has been (I do not know him), he has nothing on the Pope on bringing pain and misery to people.

Get it?

Old Ted does inflame passions like nobody else.. The Liberal Lion indeed.

Good people get sick with cancer and so do bad people and all kinds of folks in between.

McCain will be making more of this than Obama - but those guys are pros.

Kennedy has had quite a ride, I wish him the best..

Well there was also that rape in the 80's, and the fact he cares more for criminals then citizens of his own state.

NICKG 05-20-2008 11:03 AM

especially since people don't READ the whole thing then post nasty remarks...and then others ASSUME that it was wished or that i get joy from someone's suffering...which is hardly the case.

cgarr 05-20-2008 11:16 AM

We are still all Gods Children even Ted Kennedy and Tony Snow

read the whole thing?

Your title: "there is a god!"

Your post: "ted kennedy has a brain tumor....should have got it 30 years ago."

What part of that did anyone here "miss"? How could you be shocked that people would find this thread insensitive, mean-spirited, classless, and lacking in empathy?

Maybe he is an English as a second language person like yourself Markus.

I am as insensitive as anybody, more than most, and Nick's thread is offensive to me. I am tough to offend, especially when you are saying bad things about someone I don't care for.

Dude – face it – you didn’t expect this type of response and you’re trying to defend yourself and there is no way you can.

explain what is meant by "there is a god"

You, and this thread that you started, embody everything that is sick and ugly and hateful on this forum.

You must be really be a sad human being.

Tobra 05-20-2008 11:50 AM

It does not embody everything, just the vitriol from the Right. It is every bit as bad on your side of the fence D

NICKG 05-20-2008 11:58 AM

well to say that I am a rightie is not correct at all...
it isn't about politics..it is about a man who screwed people...who hid his family money so he did not pay tax...got a rapist, a murderer and himself a murderer off on his connections...and man who diluted his whole family legacy.
and it is about karma...ya know? what you give is what you get.
Did I expect it to be a contoversy? sure..anything political is...did i say"I wish he died"? no. do I hope he recovers? sure..and he should learn, we should all learn from it. sadly my point is not as i had hoped it would be. I simply said that this illness is proof that there is a god

so now i embody all that is bad on this board.

NICKG 05-20-2008 12:02 PM

btw..i tend to be more a liberal than a conservative on most things...

Perhaps. But I have always found Dan´s posts a pleasure to read. Well thought and versed. More possible it was MY posts that was easy to misinterpret. Well, sorry for the confusion.

Rikao4 05-20-2008 12:05 PM

your not bad Nick, I'm sure you will support the St.Kennedy drive.

Honestly? Not entirely. I didn't see the "confused" figure at all. I'll go back and look.

My response was to a decidedly unsympathetic response to the fact that the man has a perhaps fatal condition and it shocked me that you as a physician (and someone I knew to be a very empathetic guy) weren't more positive.

As for the tie in to the Pope...I don't get that either. You've got a problem with THIS Pope, all popes in general, or the history of the Catholic Church? I've got a problem with the history of the Catholic Church too and I'm Catholic. I've most definitiely got a problem with what I've read about certain popes. Actually, I've got a LOT of problems with many, many things that have been done in the name of religion, ALL religions, though I have very religious feelings myself. Its just I think religion and spiritual beliefs are highly personal and probably do not belong discussed even in one's own family much less on an internet forum. We're cool Markus. I'm not calling you the worst person in the world. That's Nick!:D

Sorry Nick. You've officially been crucified. Feel free to think you died for the sins of PPOT! Now THAT is sacrilege.

Oops, missed this in cross posting.

Thanks Markus. I LOVE YOU TOO MAN, and yes I actually want your Bud (Sorry, you've got to have watched American tv to understand that cultural reference). We are totally cool. I look forward to reading your take on our stupid opinions here.:)

Palum6o 05-20-2008 12:35 PM

We probably shouldn't be too hard on Nick, he's from Jersey. We all say stupid things - that's not the poorest example of taste I've seen on this board either.
