China wants us to boycott Wal-Mart.... Really???

BEIJING (AP) -- Foreign companies are defending themselves against accusations spread on Chinese Web sites that they are doing too little to help earthquake survivors.

Online comments called for boycotts of McDonald's, Wal-Mart, Nokia and others -- in one case calling them "International Super-Misers" -- but companies said they felt no impact

____________-

Well, OK China, if you want me to boycott Wal-Mart, I guess I can help you out.

I have been helping their cause for years. Haven't stepped foot in a Wal-Mart for a long long time.

You need better entertainment (or shorter winters) in Minnesota.

So a communist country is upset because they don't think that capitalist company's, whom I'm sure they stringently regulate, aren't doing what under communism, the country should be doing

Well, I already avoid walfart like the plague, but might just have to go buy some beer there now

Never been to a Wal*Mart, I heard that a store is the size of a small country with it's own weather system. And that you can live there if you want??

Are people and companies supposed to help? Is that like a law or something?

I interpret the post to mean that some chinese people wish for us to boycott western companies like Wal-Mart and McDonalds because those companies are not contributing enough to aiding the Chinese earthquake victims. Did China-based corporations help out in Katrina? Me thinks not, but I could be wrong.
