Lots of rotten meat!!!
I was coming in from mowing tonight, and noticed that the little light on our large freezer that we keep on the back porch, was not lit. I opened the lid to get quite a pleasnt surprise. The smell almost knocked me off of my feet!!. I guess the freezer died. My question is , how in the world do I get rid of it. I can manage to get it in a truck, ( I will screw the lid on), but no way I can stomache cleaning it out, really nasty. Will a scrap yard take something something that rancid??. Any ideas??
Thanks

If you can, get it to freeze everything and then take it to the dump. It will not stink as bad when it is frozen.

Look in the yellow pages for a rendering plant nearby or check with a local restaurant to see who picks up their used cooking oil (for non automotive purposes)
I suspect you'll be able to track down a company that specializes in animal by-product rendering. Good luck. Les

Wow, I attemted to clean it out tonight, eeeeeeeeeeew!, no way I can do this. It is too bad that I am not currently upset at anyone. Maybe if I leave it out with the door open my neighbors noisy dogs will have a go at it.

I investigated a fire at a large meat market a couple of years ago. By the time I was on the scene 2 weeks later, the building had been completely demolished. Only the concrete slab was left. Even so .... the smell was so horrendous, even a high-end respirator was of little use. Nasty, nasty stuff that just doesn't go away!

Drag it out to an open area pour a gallon of gas in to it light. Makes the dump run easier. I've been there, not a job for the squeamish. Good Luck !

Check your homeowners policy. You may get some money back if the meat was all ribeyes and filets.
