Heeeeeers Johnny! (is it payday yet?)
From an online source:
Ed McMahon, who for decades appeared as Johnny Carson's sidekick on "The Tonight Show," is fighting to avoid foreclosure on his multimillion-dollar Beverly Hills, Calif., home, according to published reports. The former "Star Search" host was $644,000 behind on payments on $4.8 million in mortgage loans when a unit of Countrywide Financial filed a default notice Feb. 28, The Wall Street Journal reported. McMahon, 85, has been unable to work as a pitchman since he broke his neck 18 months ago, said his spokesman, Howard Bragman. The six-bedroom, five-bath home overlooking Mulholland Drive is listed for sale at $6.25 million and has been on the market two years. _____________________________ Over-extended Ed? Perhaps he should have cashed some of those Publishers Clearing House checks hisownself.

Just another bubble idiot who bought beyond his means. Sorry Ed. Stand in line with the other 999,999. Sorry to hear about your neck, but you should've thought about things like that before you bought over your head (no pun).

but wait ...there's more
"....he did say that the current problems are unrelated to a toxic mold that spread through the structure, sickened McMahon and his wife, and led to the death of their dog in 2001. He received a $7.2 million settlement from that case." ___________________________ That money (7.2M) went where....??? ...more?? "The house is near that of pop star Britney Spears, which doesn't always work in its favor." __________________ No wonder it won't sell. Bad neighborhood!

I fell bad for Mr. McMahon
But I honestly don't see how people can blow this kind of money. Sure if I was that rich I would have some expensive toys but I would also ferret away a million here and there in a few high yield bank accounts. And I'm no rocket scientist. (shut up your mouth!)

A friend once said, "Only a real intelligent guy can make millions a year just by laughing at bad jokes." Such is Ed.

Understand that he used much of the settlement to fix the mold issue at his house. Evidently the entire house was full of the black mold crap and it was either fix the house or condem it, and he fixed it.
Nice guy and sad to see him fall on hard times. He has owned that house for years, having purchased it almost 20 years ago in 1990. A WW2 Marine Corp vet, he deserves better...

He'll be OK. He has friends.
Remember when Willie Nelson had to sell all his stuff to help pay his IRS tab? All of his buds bought the stuff at auction and gave it back to him.

QUOTE: "A WW2 Marine Corp vet, he deserves better..."
_____________ Ok I'll bite ... please tell me the meaning of that sentence? Here's a man that chased the housing bubble on it's 'never-ending' (Oops!) upward spiral, taking out numerous home equity loans (to spend on what?...who cares) and (gasp) ...got caught in the housing collapse. I certainly wish I was the remodeling contractor on that $$$ 'mold fix'. Or ... "he deserves better"...as in we shouldn't even discuss it ...him being a Veteran and all???
