iWork or MS Office for your Mac?
Which do you use for word processing, spreadsheet and calendar? How is one better than the other?

I use OfficeMac. No problems. My son swears by Mac's Pages.

Thanks. Both software programs are on sale right now at college bookstores.

I use Office.
It's not a "port" of the Windows version. It's written native for OS X.

NeoOffice here too.
Though I find myself using Google Spreadsheet (or whatever it's called) a lot lately.

One more vote for NeoOffice, although it is a port of OpenOffice.org, the next version of OO.o will have a native Aqua interface, etc.

You guys that use mac office and other off brands, do you run self contained operations or are these 100% compatible with MS Office and thus your customers/Vendors?

![]() The Open Source alternatives are generally considered to be 100% compatible but in reality nothing ever is. Had a really severe f'up wit a developer that was using Open Office. Tracking changes did come over properly and we lost months of running changes to some documentation.

FWIW it's not a brand pride thing, just a realistic question. If I sent my customer a file from iWork and they had a problem they would jump down my throat and rightly so about messing with what works.

I'm using OpenOffice on my Mac now that you don't need X11 to make it run. Compatibility with MS Office has been fine so far.
