Gas price challenge

How high can you find gas prices.
The rules: It must not be in an out of the way location 100 miles from nowhere in BFE. Must be a populated area of reasonable size...IE: City/town

Here's mine. This was taken in Seattle today.

Note: I saw diesel at $5/gal in various other places two weeks ago, so I'm surprised they're this low on the Diesel...

$4.69 for 91 right around the corner from me. $5.00 shouldn't be hard to find around here. Diesel is over $5 bucks.

$1.36 CDN / Litre, @ 3.8L per US Gallon = $5.17/gallon. That's for reg (87) octane. The 91 I put in my cars is $1.45/L, or $5.51. Costs $100 to fill the 911 now.
But I imagine our European cousins will be able to almost double anything we're paying!

Filled up my diesel van last night:-

£1.28 per litre = £5.81 per gallon which works out at $10.86/gallon.

Someone take a picture of the Shell Station near the airport in San Diego, on Pacific Hwy and Laurel. That place always had the highest price for gas in San Diego.

Of course, it was on the route to return a rental car.

I was out and decided to mark down gas prices for the local stations. One Shell is at 4.95 for premium. This station is also known for price gouging. Last summer, he raised prices alongside the station across the street, but when prices went down, he kept his about 20+ cents higher than any other station in the neighborhood - even after the other stations were going down.

I was in a weird situation about 4 weeks ago, I was actually on the phone with Byron when this was going on.

I pulled off an exit off I95 in St. Augustine, Florida and pulled into a gas station, I pulled my credit card and did my usual, credit card did not work see attendant, weird, the card worked 3 hours ago ( I was in my RX7 that should explain a lot) so I go inside and tell the couple behind the counter that their card reader is broke, they tell me in a snotty fashion that is fine, the old lady in front of me is giving them her credit card so she can pump gas, I look at this entire situation and ask for the pump to be turned on, refusal, I must give them my credit car, I refuse and leave in fear that they might be stealing CC info for fraud.

Afterwards I wondered if they were trying to force people into their store in an effort to get them to buy stuff (where the profit is) since many are feeling the pinch at the pump and not spending more then they have to in the road. I know we pack a cooler with water and food in an effort to cut down travel by car costs.

Too bad because it cost them a gas sale from me.

I think Hwy. 1 through Big Sur is just about always the highest in the nation.

You Americans do realize that nobody else in the western world feels sorry for you right now, don't you? I don't mean to sound mean-spirited, but frankly we'd kill for those prices right now.

I just got back from Mosport in a 996 turbo and the gas prices are starting to edge out the track fees. Probably over $200 in gas today. $1.60/L at the track - the equivalent of over $6/gallon!!

Hey, choose to live in a country where they don't tax the hell out of gas?

That is why in 6 months I will own 3 electric vehicles and I will be rarely buying gas anymore.

What are you doing to reduce your crude consumption?

How is your electricity generated? Hopefully not coal-fired plants, as this turns out to be less green than burning fuel directly. Hydro generated electricity is wonderful, but some groups have issues with creating dams and new lakes.

To reduce my personal CO2 output I'm presently working on a scheme to harness the energy from my anxiety over our dependence on fossil fuels and the depletion thereof. I've got plenty of anxiety, now if I could just...

I concur. I don't wonder why gas is so expensive now. I wonder why it has been so cheap until now.

Here in FLA (where Jim lives, too), most of our elec. is from nukes. The balance is oil, natural gas and a few trash-to-energy plants.

I guess I did forget about it. What war made gas prices skyrocket recently?
