Do we need a Naked Olympics?
A new swimsuit (Speedo’s LZR) is breaking records. (38 of 42 recent record setters were wearing the ‘new’ suit.)
The suit compresses the wearer’s body, has no external seams, helps keep a fatigued swimmers body in the correct ‘posture’ and reduces drag. No corked bats, no steroids, no blood doping, no cheating …but titanium golf clubs, graphite/exotic composite tennis racquet's, slippery bikers/skiers helmets and clothing, etc. …I say, technology changes and so be it. Progress marches onward. What say you? P.S. (I don’t want to see naked men ...now perhaps some of those female swimmers/gymnasts…??)

Do NOT google image Speedo LZR, its a pickle fest.
I had no idea they were making performance enhancing swim suits now. Makes you wonder when they are going wear enhanced clothing to make you run faster, I would imagine a new rule is not very far off....

Another thing I've heard about the suit is that it's more buoyant. That IS a corked bat in my mind.

My son swims Div. III at college. He figures someone wearing a $550 LZR better be good enough not to get beat by a kid wearing a $30 pair of jammers.

I have seen some Japanese videos of women doing ballet, gymnastics, playing taiko, etc... nude, I guess it wouldn't be all bad.

Autoweek had an article a few weeks ago with olympic athletes. One of them was a female swimmer who said it takes her about 10 minutes to put on the suit and she said she puts it on faster than most.

Why not nude? That is the way they were originally performed. BTW, the Greeks thought the male body (in shape) was the epitome of natural beauty, more so than the female.
The Olympics went downhill after the West allowed professional athletes enter. The Communist blocks and other poorer countries have done this for a long time, but when we started it was the end of the Olympic spirit for me.

The vast majority of humans are more attractive with clothes on than naked. I am all for an Olympics involving those rare creatures who are better looking nude than covered.
