Cool Blackberry Mods

I bought a Blackberry Pearl tonight. It won't be here till next week but...
I can start getting ideas about cool stuff to do with it now.
So do you blackberry guys have any cool stuff you've downloaded or anything like that?
It does have the gps so i will prolly get google maps.

Ooooh, good thread! My brother in law just picked up an iPhone, so he's giving me his nearly new AT&T Blackberry Pearl, unlocked for use on T-Mobile. By the way, the iPhone is ****** sweet.

I have the zen theme - but use the iphone look alike. I have the blackberry ball changer (it changes color randomly)

I have the Kla-bloom and meteor crusher games - make sure you update the firmware to the latest and greatest and get yourself a 1g micro sd.

I also got an aftermarket calculator - not sure where it came from - but I like it much better than the stock one (and I use it for business alot)

Google maps don't work with the internal Gps, only with a bluetooth external one... go figure

frankly , i find the GPS pretty much worthless , as it's just not good enough to drive with

Pearls are a royal pain in the ass to type on

Stijn, I think the Google maps is dependent on carrier. I'll be getting an unlocked one, hopefully it will work for me.

I hope the gps works for me. But if it doesnt i do have a garmin so its not a huge loss. And i think give driving directions is all the blackberry is designed to do.

If you get a blackberry from Verizon, the internal GPS will not work under any circumstances, no matter what model of BB you get. Verizon disables it so they can sell you their $9.95/mo VZ Navigator, which only works in the US. So much for their push for a "World Phone" as they advertise their 8830 model. Oh, and you have to call Verizon and go on an international plan on a daily rate for Canada or anywhere else.

i run generic os straight from RIM.. 4.2, 4.3, 4.5, neither had Google Maps 2.0.3 work with the internal 8800 GPS... the app simply only takes the bluetooth gps option...

tried some carrier OS'es, same thing...
Blackberry maps works with it though, but it's just not good enough at directions for driving... to slow, not clear , screen to small, no voice warnings, no speed camera alerts...

Hate the Pearl, but love my BB Curve. Just could not get along with the smaller keyboard.

Typical companies. Make the new worse than the old. I dont plan to be typing long emails and suck so the keyboard wont bother me. I do text alot and i see the keyboard being better than the number pad on myh old cell phone.

Btw I have a Knock off iPhone made by CECT. I am selling it because I now have the blackberry and dont need it. I have had it for less than 2 months. It would be great to give to some kid who wants an iphone but doesnt need one with all the features. I will make a pelican special of 90$. It comes with 2 batteries and a car and wall charger and silicone case.
