 Imus does it again!

Imus angers Sharpton with latest race comment NEW YORK (AP) - Don Imus has once again injected race into his radio show. During an on-air conversation Monday about the arrests of suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, Imus asked, "What color is he?" Told by sports announcer Warner Wolf that Jones is "African-American," Imus responded: "There you go. Now we know." Civil rights leader Al Sharpton issued a statement calling the exchange disturbing "because it plays into stereotypes." He says his National Action Network was still deciding how to respond. Imus was fired from his previous show last year after he made a racially charged comment about the Rutgers women's basketball team. Representatives for Imus and WABC Radio haven't returned calls. First off, you would think that Imus would have learned his lesson the first time. More importantly though, exactly what is it that isn't true about his statement? When is the last time you heard of a non-black NFL player being arrested for shooting up a strip club? Sharpton is always eager to jump on the race issue, I wish he and the other "leaders" of the black community would spend their energy realizing that the current black culture encourages this kind of behavior. Maybe if they looked in the mirror a bit more instead of always pointing the race finger they might make things better for themselves. |

 Just proving his point.
Apparently it's illegal to take note of trends. |

Bill Cosby makes the same point quit frequently when speaking of black culture and behavior, wtf is it OK for him and not Imus??

I'd go out of my way to offend Al Sharpton at every opportunity.

Living in a NFL town, most of the time when a ball player gets in trouble, he is one of the black players:(
	Sad but true:( |

I don't think Imus has to worry about working if he doesn't want to so he probably doesn't give a rats a$$ about what he says, he is not the type to be politically correct.

Troy Aikman was once accused of being racist because he mostly yelled at black players.
Emmet Smith came to his defense, "Of course he mostly yells at the black players, there are only 3 white guys on the team." The NFL is 70% black. Pretty good chance it's gonna be a black guy. Which begs the larger question, why are there only 10 black QB's out of the 90 or so on last years roster? Imus's statement was completely irrelevant to the conversation. He's either racist or a fuchin moron. |

 Imus is a racist.
When Howard 1st went to WNBC Imus referred to his side kick Robin (a black woman) and the N word all the time. When the knappy headed ho news broke she basically said now the rest of the world knows what she knew all along. |

All races commit crimes at roughly the same percentage relative to their representation of the total population, ~15-17%. That is well documented and not disputed by anyone. 32 teams x's 53 regular season roster guys ='s 1696 players x' .3 = 508 white guys x's .16 ='s 81 white guys that are committing crimes, spousal abuse, drunk driving, steroids, etc... that have not been caught or have managed to keep it quite. To be fair there are 189 black players committing crimes of which 170 or more have not been caught or managed to keep it quiet. Note: that math does not include hispanics, asians or other ethnic groups as their sample size is probably too low to be relevant. |

Imus is a racist, and so is Al Sharpton.
The only difference is: when Imus speaks his hate, it's called a "Slip up", whereas Al Sharpton does it as a matter of course. |

You have to wonder when it IS OK to say someone is black or white?
I enjoy watching Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fights. In quite a few fights, both fighters wore the same trunks, so it was almost impossible to say "he's in the blue trunks", etc. In quite a few of those fights, one guy was black, the other guy was white. The announcers tried to describe the hardly discernible differences in the trim, etc., instead of saying "so-and-so is the black guy, so-and-so is the white guy". It was painful to listen to. Talk about an elephant in the room. . |

edit: One could also argue minorities are unfairly singled out by LEOs, or any number of other factors which lead to the imbalance in the race/crime ratio. Hope I didn't just touch the "third rail"! These are just stats for homicide from the US DoJ: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1214287273.jpg http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/homicide/race.htm FWIW. |

Imus is a freakin' old fart who's show is crap and he should really just retire. Of course, if anyone thinks he's interesting enough to listen to, well, have at it.

If Sharpton didn't bring attention to this behavior would it be in the news?
