Since I have fouled out, let me make up for it by suggesting a "ramp up" of the foul, juvenile vindictiveness to the next level: Take a dump or two in one of those pump up garden sprayers, fill it half way with hot water to make a foul tea and then go over to his house and spray his front door! Sufficiently foul to get my PPOT card reinstated?:D Anyway, remember I DID start my post with the "...sorry to be a party pooper..." disclaimer. |

The guy said you had allot of stuff, so what? Did you expect him to help you or something? OK his dog took a dump on community property and he didn't clean it up. Not your property, community property near your townhouse. That's not cool, he's a tool, but does it really justify you going over the top? Are you just having a bad day? |

I have an ongoing dog poop issue at the moment too.
I own a home in SoCal. Every day two ladies take their pugs for a walk. They stop at my house and allow their dogs to pee and poop in the same spot on my lawn. They stay for a good 3 minutes or so while their pugs tear at the grass and root around. Meanwhile our dogs and the neighbor's dogs become agitated and bark the entire time. At least once a week they leave the poop. Moreover, the grass is ruined from their DAILY urine and rooting. This has been going on for at least a year. A month ago, I decided to talk to them. As soon as I walked out of my house, they backed up and started saying "Sorry, sorry, I know. My dogs go every day. I cross the street from now on. I get rid of my dogs". I had not even said a word. I responded "Thank you". I have crossed their paths walking with my wife several times since and they always say "hello, I keep my dogs off your grass." Well, the grass is still screwed up in the same spot and this morning they were at it again letting the dogs pee, poo and root in my grass. I did not want to rush out and confront them, so I walked out after they left and sure enough they did NOT pick up all the poop. They were a couple houses up the street by this time and had stopped at another neighbor's house to let them do their business there too! They saw me but turned around quickly and would not look at me again as I stood with my arms out looking at them. I am pretty sure they continue to do this daily. It is not just disrespectful to my dogs, it makes my lawn look really cruddy. So, I am going to make a sign that says "Don't let your pugs poop on my yard." I am also going to spread cayenne pepper all over the area. I am all for getting along, turning the other cheek, and being a good, kind citizen, but I can't help getting angry when someone literally *****s on your rights and property without regard. What are these ladies thinking? What would you do? Mike |

I'd go out there and have a stern conversation with them. Get the grass fixed and hand them the bill. Don't expect to be paid but make the point. Be a real a55 and call the cops, file a trespassing charge. Pick up the poop, ring their bells and hand it to em. Got a video camera? Document their transgressions. Did I mention stop being nice. |

2. Make a list of dates/times that you observe them doing this on your property for a period of a week or two. Then confront them with it - be direct, firm and polite. Tell them next time you're going to get law enforcement involved. "look, I don't want to have to do this, but it costs a bloody fortune to own property here right now and I don't appreciate it being turned into a toilet bowl by your dogs - if I observe this again that's it. I'd prefer that we can all get along neighborly but you need to start acting like a considerate neighbor if you want to be treated as one". And be prepared to follow through, because I guarantee it'll work for about a week and they'll be right back doing the same thing after that. |

I agree with your other suggestions, though, SM. Take a picture of them when they do it, then blow it up to poster size and make a sign out of it. Then put a huge red X and the word NO! on it. Put the sign right in the spot on your lawn. Get some laughs. Or make a neighborhood flyer with a picture of the ladies and the dogs, mug-shot style. Call it: PISSED OFF AND POLITELY PROTESTING POOPING PUGS. |
Bell is going through culture shock just as I did when first moving to FLA. I came from a place were people were (mostly) polite, considerate, friendly/neighborly, etc. Very few hassles. I imagine where he just moved from (MidWest/OH), was similar.
Now, he's dropped right smack in the middle of "A-Hole Central" (FL). With rude neighbors, rude drivers, inconsiderate/ignorant folks being the norm, he better get some brass knuckles and a 50-rd. clip for his assault rifle, cause he's gonna be busy. I'm getting the hell out. Never did adjust after 8 years. Have fun! SmileWavy |

Now here in TX, things are different. Parked the P-car on the driveway, was protruding into the sidewalk. Car was there from 8pm to 7am for two nights only. Second morning I leave for work, wife leaves 1/2 hour later and there a not one but 2 cruisers outside the house. One of the neighbors complained. Against HOA rules but I'm new around here and simply did not know. What's wrong with a polite knock on the door or a note on the windshield. If I keep it up then I'm an a55 and they should call the cops. |

first off it's everyone else here saying they'll fling the poo......no i wasn't expecting this guy to help me unload my moving truck, but i had been up for almost 2 days, was pretty wore out and to have this guy sitting there watching me for 2 hours the thought of him coming over and offering a hand when i was trying to maneuver my couch would've been very gratefull......he waited until i was done and hooking my car trailer back up to the truck to come over and say "you have alot of stuff" while smirking like a douche and never introducing himself or saying hello.......if i see someone who may need help you'd better believe i'd offer it in ohio or florida.......
sure i live in a development in a townhouse, but he had to go out of his way to get his dog right next to our door to ****, that's why it pissed me off, i don't care if it's a development or not, there is an area where these people are supposed to walk and relieve their dogs in the center of the parking area in a very large grass area.....so to me he did it out of spite, and wouldn't have reacted like he did as soon as he saw my rav4 pulling through the gate if he wasn't up to something......... call the cops? no way, i'm not a douche..... if i catch him doing it again i'll be confronting him and letting him know i'll collect it for him and return to him, everyone else i've met in ocala florida has been very nice, no *******s other than this guy reguardless of what danny ocean says, everyone seems to be happily enjoying life......sure no one knows how to drive, that's anywhere south of north carolina imo. overall i like it here, i think the attitudes recieved has alot to do with the attitude given, which is why danny ocean is seemingly frustrated with the state......... in ohio i lived on a quiet street, with friendly neighbors, and from what i can tell the ones here are the same, it's a different scenario though as people don't have yards to mow, or garages to play in, so the social capacity is limited other than the friendly quick hello because people want to duck into their a/c......... and danny, it's not culture shock....it's just one douchebag |
