Guy wanted to beat me up today.....lol.

[vent]

So I'm driving back from the airport tonight. I was doing the posted 55mph in my 911 Anyway, a middle-aged man wearing a suit blew by me in a newer Nissan. About 2 minutes later, we pull even, and then he proceeds to switch lanes right in front me.....I had to slam on my brakes to avoid him from hitting me. I lay on the horn and put my hands in the air as to say "what was that?" He immediately flips me the bird and does a brake check on me. ...Classy.

About a mile of the road, he pulls over and I proceed to pass him (we're on the expressway). As I pull by, he starts to roll his window down. The first thing out of his mouth is "Hey Fa&$ot, do you want to go someplace and fight?!" I busted up laughing at him and continued by him. About 5 miles up the road, I pull off on my exit, and sure enough, he pulls up beside me at the stop light. He proceeds to ask me if I want to go someplace and fight. At this point, I keep laughing at him, and then I let him know what happened. I said "Hey dude, you blew by me, cut me off, and then started talking crap. What are you 15 years old?" He keeps going on and on, asking me if I wanted to "settle it like real men." Its gets to the point where I finally just called him out. I said "Are you just jealous because I'm driving a Porsche?"

His reply was "Your car is a piece of $hit." My reply: "Your mom was a piece of $hit last night." Immature, yes, but that ended the convo.

At one point, I was contemplating pulling my .45 out of the door pocket, but I remembered the "never brandish it unless you're really going to use it" rule. Glad I was the bigger guy...I just drove away when the light changed.

[/vent]

Next time call 911 and report him. Idiots like that have no business being on the roads.

After I drove away, I wished I had gotten his license plate number. That was my first thought afterwards.

Can't win these ones. Best just to roll on, secure in the knowledge you did the right. If your going to start killing people for stupid, its going to be a long day, and at sunset, the end won't be in sight.

Douchebags will always be douchebags. Nothing you can do or say will change that. Congrats on being a man in a world of little boys. Good job!

I would agree with Joe on this one. Happened to me in a similar fashion couple of years ago. Called 911 and CT State police were on this guy in 5 minutes. I met the Troopers and went back to where this guy was stopped, turns out his wife had just served him with divorce papers. He was pissed and decided to take it out on me. Trooper asked if I wanted to press charges and I declined. This guy was going to fight with the first person that crossed him.

As far as I'm concerned, getting the plate number does nothing. The police have to make contact with these idiots and put some fear of god into them otherwise someone is really going to get hurt.

You did the right thing by driving away. People don't stop on the side of the road to fight, they stop to shoot.

He was a punk and karma will get him, David

When I'm driving I assume the belief that everyone on the road but me are homocidal sociopaths with guns/knives/grenades, etc. who, given the slightest provocation, will want to kill me any way they can. Given that mindset, the odds are against me in ANY confrontation, so I avoid ALL confrontations, just dial 911 if I figure it'll do any good. So far, so good.

He was probably a conservative.

I might have suggested we go somewhere and settle it. At a track.

You should just wave and smile at him, might piss him off more but helps with my tranquility.

Excuse me? Conservatives are grown up, not a "man child" like this one.

Dude, NO. The fact that it even crossed your mind is an issue... be careful! You were presumably going to pull it out for the joy of seeing his reaction, but you have no idea how nuts he is.

Thank god that you didn't do something stupid, that would have been a bad bad mistake.

the pistol issue didn't cross my mind until he started screaming and pounding on his steering wheel, and unbuckled his seat belt.

regardless, i'm glad it didn't escalate

Mmmm..... I don't know.

A lot of the ones I know are prettttty up-tight a lot of the time. Nice folks, but don't take much to get 'em riled, trigger fingers all atwitchin', red in the face talkin' 'bout blowin' the Un-American bustards ta smithereens, riddin' the country of lazy hippy welfare ******* commie socialists and on and on.

Don't get me wrong! They're generally fun people if ya don't get 'em started!

At one time or another, I was that guy. Not much temper control. But a couple of incidences helped to cure that a long time ago. One was when the guy did pull a gun on me. I just told him to shoot me, but I went no further toward him. Game over.

The other is quite funny. I'm riding a small motorcycle and something happened ( I can't remember now after all these years) with a guy in a convertible with the top down. He didn't look like much when we both pulled over "to settle it like a man." When this guy gets out, he looks like Schwartzenegger.

gulp...... have a nice day, uh, sir....
