I put a fountain in. Drilled a hole in a piece of pink grantie. I know here in Ct. the garden centers carry all the materials for doing a waterfall. They also put on clinics in the summer.

Drinking beers and listening to a waterfall doesn't mix.

Thinking about doing one in my back yard, but also was thinking about working it together so that it drains into the pool.

HAHAHA! My thoughts exactly!
![]() As an interesting aside (I can be such a fckinug boor!), it's interesting to note that gargoyles, scuppers, so to speak, spewed water collected from the rain gutters of Gothic cathedrals. One of the last of the stone mason's tasks, when the cathedral was nearing completion (the construction of which may have begun 100 or more years prior), was to sculpt the gargoyles. Legend has it that the stone masons were allowed to express their feelings torward their bosses by characterizing them as the evil, slave driving SOB's that they percieved them to be. Ah, yes! The word "gargle" stems from the gargling sound of the rainwater pouring from the gargoyle's mouth! O.K. That's all.

Sorry guys to get us off topic. That's interesting about the gargolyes. I've heard similar stories. The original 'Emmit' sits on a building in NYC. Here he is feeling warmer for you sensitive types

Ponds/waterfalls attract raccoons here. They can quickly become a nuisance.
I'm on a hunting and/or trapping project right now, and I don't have a pond...but my neighbor across the road does.

I was hoping there'd be more pics posted. I just finished a disappearing pond/water fall that fills in about 2 min. and drains dry in about 20 mi. I turn it on from 2 remote controls (kitchen & bedroom) only when I want to - little increase in elec. bill, pump lasts longer, no big rock pit to remove to clean or access the pump, no algae, no chemicals, but of course no fish either. I found a company in WA which has a patent on their system - underground reservoir, expandable capacity (I required 1 extra side pod connected to the reservoir - 55 gal. total) containing pump and filter, auto low water shut-off to protect the pump and auto refill that keeps it topped off as it evaporates/splashes out.. The pond is only 4" deep so the only major digging was a 36x60x24 deep hole for the reservoir/side pod, and shallow trenches for water to the falls and from the skimmer back to the reservoir. I'd debated with myself about getting one for years; didn't like the idea of a 650W pump running 27/7, chemicals, algae, etc. I happened on my system by luck, tried it and I'm stoked! Here's some pics of the landscapers building it and the finished work: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

My pond is simple but it works. I made this from a very large wine barrel (3' in diameter). It's about 2.5 feet deep so I don't have problems with preditors. The hardest part was building the patio to go with it.

Up here we call yours a "water feature" - not a waterfall. ;-)

All right. I'm thoroughly deflated - it's a water feature.
Tough to find you - red shirt, pants rolled up, near the bottom, just to the right of the falls? How high is it? Guessing 30 meters of so? Is it really on your property?
