That would be an effective way to give Ken Schramm an opportunity to criticize the governor for:

1) Arrogantly dismissing a law properly promulgated by the legislature and

2) Allowing an overweight truck to damage three hundred miles of expensive road surface constructed at taxpayers' expense.

Sure, okay, in a way I'm being argumentative. I'd still very much like to buy you a beer and I do think you are a very reasonable man. I'm not being argumentative just for argument's sake. Fact is.....public servants and elected representative can be SKEWERED more easily for bending or breaking rules than they can for complying. Indeed, when they make those kinds of decisions, they are accepting substantial risk. What you call "man stones" is actually the willingness to give your enemies some excellent ammunition. You think we criticize gubmits for FOLLOWING regulations.......just take a look at how we view gubmits that SIDESTEP them.

Thanks, Mule. I forgot to add the part asking if Bella was Ma Donna's sister. Just a little tomfoolery. You may all go back to hurling brickbats at one another now.

I read your point as being; liberals regularly look the other way when it comes to gubmint incompetence, or worse.

Let's go back a step. You seem to have the perception that Schramm is liberal. I have the perception that gubmit-bashing is not considered a typical liberal behavior. I see incongruity with this. I dunno whether Schramm is a liberal or not. I rarely watch TV. My two sharpest recollections of Schramm editorials are gubmit-bashing efforts on his part. This leaves me with the suspicion that either he is not a liberal, or he is a poor one.

Frankly, I'm not sure whether terms like "liberal" or "conservative" fit Mr. Schramm. I think a term like "opportunist" fits better.

Schramm considers himself a Liberal. . .so does the radio station that pitts him against the right-winger John Carlsen. Of course you have your own defn of what makes a Liberal a true Lib. I suspect most everyone seems conservative from your POV.

Hey, I don't know if it helps, but Schramm is like you and Obama in that he has to have a http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...leys/roker.gif

....part of the wise Lib mind needs, I suspect.

In this market, I'd call myself a liberal too if I were Mr. Schramm.
