Do you mean maintenance like just tires, clutches, brakes, oil changes or
REPAIRS, like motors, transmissions.
If it is just normal maintenance I think if you can afford to buy the car that shouldn't be a problem.
If I didn't have to pay for anything after I bought the car-if I could actually find the money to do it- and could drive the heck out of it, it would be a Daytona Ferrari.

Haha, It's more like a 50K Ferrari. I have seen some go for as little as 40K, I remember a higher mile car being sold in the mid 30's and some super nice examples fetch 65 to 70K. I could actually afford the 50K part with a little sacrafice, to bad I would be out of luck if anything went wrong.

The GTV6 are not as bad as some say. The transaxle synchros suck, and the rubber doughnuts/bushings that connect the driveshaft are annoying as well. Other than that it's not really any worse than other cars from the era.

The point is you would have to pay for the car itself, the fuel for it and the insurance, but you would not have to pay a dime to fix the car no matter what goes wrong. You would not have to pay for any repairs or maintenance but you would still have to pay for the price of the car.

I'd opt for an Italian exotic: Ferrari, Lamborghini. Maybe a Countach. I like others' suggestions for an E-Type, as well.

Following the's comment about a late-model Jag sedan for a DD, if you're going that route, might as well pick up the supercharged XJR. Of course, even if I wasn't responsible for the maintenance and repair bills, I'd have to think twice about having a Jag (and the associated spotty reliability record) for a DD. Not fond of getting stranded.
