Red face What's the most you've paid for fuel?

This post is for those of you who think you pay too much for your fuel.

I just bought leaded fourstar at Ģ1.13 per litre

Thats $2.06 per litre.

Or, more painfully, $9.30 per gallon

OK you can get up now.

I just paid $2.60/gallon for 91 Octane Chevron two days ago.

Now of course, London has a MUCH better public transportation system (busses, Underground) than California has even though California has one of the best public transport systems in the USA. Most cities (for example, Miami/Ft.Laud) have practically non-existent public transport.

But still...$9/gallon, I'd move. Fast. Plus the weather sucks in London.

Wow, that's a lot!

I don't usually look at the price. (Nothing I can do about it, the car needs to be fueled up!). But last time I filled up, it was over $40, and my car has around a 15 gallon tank. I'm not sure I remember paying over $40 in the past.

$9.30 per gallon, wow! At those prices, I'd definately buy a Hybrid or some other really fuel efficient car for daily transport. Even 18 mpg just wouldn't cut it at those prices!

Just fueled up. 83.3 cents per litre. That's high here. Can't believe we're complaining about the cost of fuel considering what you guys in the UK are paying.

About the highest I've seen in the last year is 88 cents / litre.

Bear in mind, these are Canadian prices, so 88 cents is about 67 cents US or $2.70 for a gallon.

Regular unleaded is about 84 pence per litre here, but that's still $6.90 a gallon

I just thought she'd go better with 99ron fourstar with the added benefit of some lead to lube the valve stems and help temps. Not that it ever gets hot in this country.....

I pay about US$4.10/gal for 116 octane race fuel and have yet to pay US$2.00 for highway fuel.

Best,
Grady

I think, in general, we all pay about the same for fuel - it's just that some countries add alot more in taxes than the US does....

How about 2.24 euros per liter in the Netherlands? So, according to previous calculations that's about 10.11 euros per gallon and keep in mind that the euro is more worth than a dollar (with all respect to the Americans).

Paid $2.77 a few weeks ago in Blythe, CA for 91!
European fuel is taxed to the hilt.

If I remember correctly the high I paid for 93 octane here in VA was something right around $2.29 which was last year ... this year the high was around $2.23.

I recently paid $1.15/ltr or about $AUD4.20/$USD2.95 per gallon here. It depends on what day of the week it is, amazingly fuel prices rise dramatically (10-15 cents per litre) on weekends and public holidays

Paid the highest yesterday I've ever paid, $2.08 for regular 87 octane. I wanted to cry. Thank goodness for low compression CIS engines that run no prob with 87...

Exactly why I was curious about the comp. ratio. My 69 is 8.6:1 so there's no way I can run high octane...

Which in turn is a bit of a blessing cost wise.

$5.75 per gallon for 110 octane race gas just this weekend.

Grady, why are you buying race gas? Something you haven't told us??

it's $2.26 for Shell's 93 "V-Power" here in Boston. I've seen as high as 2.35 around, but then rolled through New Canaan, CT 2 weeks ago and it was over $3.00 for full serve.

You can run high octane, no problem. It's just that you don't need to and I doubt you'll any gain from doing so. If you have high compression, that requires high octane, but you could run race gas in your lawn mower if you wanted to.
