fwiw, one of the guys I work with waited for i2.0 . . . he checked it out, all jazzed, and ended up getting the crackberry. ...8120 IIRC. a very slick phone. He said something about T-mobile handling the email (no charge) and the monthly cost half of the iPhone.

...of course if you want to impress the chicks with your swavey RPN calc on your internet device get the iPhone. ...or one of the Nokia devices -they've had the HP21c RPN fin. calc app for years.

Am I missing something? There is virtually no difference.

I noticed 2.0 seems to automatically get my "fetch" email. (ie: gmail)

Also, quicktime now plays my vonage voicemails that are sent via email. couldn't do it before.

The only obvious change is the addition of a button for buying/downloading apps.

I expected to see some new and improved features. I am dissapointed.

For example, would it be so hard to add trig and exponents features to the 4 function calculator? Seriously.

The batch email move and delete features are nice, as well as being able to search contacts in addition to scrolling. As was mentioned, turn the calc sideways for the scientific calculator.

Evan:

That's a great find!

I just emailed myself a 9MB QT .mov file and opened and played it on my iPhone running 2.0. I don't think was possible before, but I could be mistaken.

Best,

Were the trig functions available by turning sideways pre 2.0 ?

That is not intuitive.

How does one do a batch delete of emails? I don't see it.

I guess the intuitiveness of a double-screened scientific calculator activating with a "landscape" tilt is arguable. :)

For batch delete, just look in the upper right corner of the screen when you are viewing your list of emails -> touch the "Edit" button, then you can select the emails to delete . . . or move.

Still no SMS / Missed Call / Voicemail reminder beep. Very irritating that this basic feature would not be in the phone.

Just last night I missed a call because of this missing feature. It would be so easy to fix. Also, files cannot be password protected independently. You cannot send a photo via text messaging. You cant print wirelessly via iPhone. Still lots of missing features.
