Do you "celebrate the heritage" of the American flag? You'd have to include almost every thing you mentioned (plus a few more attrocities, like genocide of native americans) that are "represented" by that flag too. For some it's just a bit too convenient to pretend that racism (a de facto way of life EVERYWHERE in the US, terribly WRONG, and certainly not just a black & white issue) only speaks with a southern accent. I'm not into "flags", but have no problem with my heritage, both American and southern. Learn from "our" mistakes and move on is my position. Think about it...

ps: If not from the south, one might have trouble comprehending how we have pride in our "southern heritage". Racism has never been a significant part of my life (nor MOST people I know)...EXCEPT for what is depicted in the media.

I am not so rabid against Pat but you need to remember the days when Pat posted that all the American troops overseas deserved to be killed by Al Quida. Ya know that kinda pisses a lot of people off, especially when it comes from a ex-US Army type that Pat supposedly is, especially when he is now retired and living off of US Army pay every month.

Many of us cannot ignore the past as you suggest, especially with statements like the above. Hopefully he has grown up a bit after that session but anyone, especially a Vet, who says things like all our military should be killed if they are overseas, should expect very difficult and passionate responses.

Nice photos and looks like everyone had a good time shooting. Would have loved to join in but only if I could be guaranteed not to be the target! :)

To many it serves to remember a time and place in history, and sure people took to arms to defend what they believed in. Killer weekend, Thanks to Pat and his wife for putting on another awsome weekend. I tried to get some photos of the night fireworks but I wasn't that good. :) Might be cause Prials couldn't get them to go the same way everytime. I think he was using bent matches or something. :)

jim is probably pulling into his driveway right now, a big thanks to him for letting me co-drive his turbo rx-7.......let me say that that car is freaking fun and fast :D
we got 4 runs each, but the organizers spread all 4 out over the day, meaning you had one run....then waited an hour, then ran again, etc......kinda silly to do that imo but whatever, we still had fun :D
for the first 3 runs we ran jims old race slicks, and confirmed that they're shot, they got way too greasy which made the rx-7 a drift machine....which was fun in it's own right :D
the last run we put on his street tires and easily knocked a full second off of our times, a good time was had, he has some in car footage of our runs in the drift machine, hopefully we'll be able to post them :D
