i need help.. stupid eBay
i was working on my car today and the mailman came and i got the new badge i bought on eBay... when i finally got around to opening it i noticed it was a cheap fake!!! the whole thing was in a gold paint and i noticed that the red stripes are PINK! then i compared it and the eBay one is formed and the real one is stamped... needless to say i feel pretty flipping cheated. is their anyway to send it back, or leave negative feedback without it ruining my 100%?
i've also thought about contacting porsche as they are not selling real porsche parts! ![]() |

Under the new feedback system, he can't leave you negative feedback.

No. Usually that charge is understood to be shipping and handling. he gave you a price and you accepted and paid it, that's a contract. getting something that is fake or not what was decribed is a different story.
Contact the seller! Most people on e-bay are fairly reasonable. |

Get Porsche to confirm that it is a fake in writing, then escalate it straight to Paypal as a dispute, claiming counterfeit goods, and Paypal should quarantine money in the seller's Paypal account to reimburse - don't bother contacting the seller, just go straight to Paypal. I know people who've done this for other counterfeit goods with good results.

I think for a lot of ebay sellers the shipping overcharge is most of the profit, it's ok if you get the item at a resonable price.

Sammy's correct; give the guy a chance to make it good, IMO.

ebay does not get a vig on the shipping cost, only the sale and listing fees. So tons of people sell items for $1.00 and charge $30.00 for shipping to save on the "commision" $5 for shipping with an actual cost of $1.66 is borderline not terrible. There is a little time and effort involved with S/H and if it's a business you need to consider it a cost. Personally when I sell I only charge exactly what it will cost. If I do an estimated and it's way out of whack, say estimated $10 and it actually cost $5 i'll refund the diff. If the diff is only a buck or two I won't and I tell all my buyers that upfront. So far everyone has been ok with it.

If you tip off the seller, the seller may move all his funds out of his Paypal account.
If you read the fine print in Paypal regarding disputes, it states that if there are funds in the Paypal account they will use it to reimburse buyers, but if there are no funds, the fine print states it will be left up to Paypal's discretion whether to reimburse or not. Of course, I am assuming the transaction is via Paypal - may not be. In the end, it's up to you.

ok called my porsche dealer and they are not touching this with a ten foot pole.!!! they said basicly if it has the same part number as a genuine porsche part then for all they are concerned it's real.... and i made my self sound like an arse while talking to 5 different repersentatives..finally got connected to the head boss guy"idk" and said he wouldn't get any of his reps involved in this either!
but it's obvisious fake! every little detail on the real one is missed on the fake, the fake isn't even stamped, even is more domed and for godssakes it's ******* PINK!!!!!!! Last edited by Arizona_928; 07-16-2008 at 03:27 PM.. |
