My 4 yr old has cancer...

We found out about this last week and have already been through a round of Chemo. Today, Friday we had the last of the scans, a PET for molecular or celluar activity. High activity levels in specific area will determine more cancer.

So far so good with the following.

CT Scan of the Lungs SmileWavy

Bone Marrow test SmileWavy

2 MRI's show a little orbit bone erosion but not into the brain SmileWavy

Bone Scan, Clear SmileWavy

When the PET comes back clear, Spencer will be the 9th (Ninth) pediatric patent in the last 58 years to have Ewing's Sarcoma present itself in the eye orbit.

And of course Oncology works 9-4 Monday through half day Friday. We should get results Monday.

Irony of this post I started http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/386740-pelican-philanthropy.html?highlight=mad+mike

I spoke to Wayne via E-Mail. He is up todate on all that is happening; however, I was not ready to post yet, he was kind enough to say I could post for support and whatever we have in store for cancer benefits. It has been system overload with cancer and chemo stuff, actually about 10 hours of "classwork" if you are ready for it or not.

My son has Ewing's Sarcoma family of tumor's. However, his is not in the bone and was presented, FORTUNATELY, in his eye orbit. We could see the change and knew we had to get it checked out. Two Pediactric Opthimoligist later, met a fantastic surgeon. She has a BMW M6. I knew I liked her from the moment we met.

She upped the Surgery 5 days. We took pictures of the issue to her, around 20 photos of the progression in the last month. So instead of 7/7 surgery, we had it the following day 7/2. And as Oncology works, no results until last Thursday 7/10.

We now know what we are in for...for the most part. Waiting on the PET, that will determine the final diagnosis of what we are kicking in the teeth!

As my Friend said and this is my song, Let's kick the F@cker in the teeth!

Mike, words fail. You know we'll all be behind your son and you.

Speechless.

Hearing this is what brings one back to what is really important in life. The people in our lives and the love we have for them. I wish your son well.

This trial in your sons life will change him. The struggle for his life that he is having at such a young age will impart a maturity that is well beyond his years.

My words are failing me as well. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your whole family...

Not that you're looking for anything, but a simple suggestion (if you don't already): I'm gone a fair bit at times from my kids due to work. There's not much they like more than simply laying next to Daddy with a stuffed animal (or 20) while I read to them. (currently on the 6th Harry Potter book) Mine are 5 & 8 now and they love it.

Best of luck, I'm glad it sounds like you found great medical help as well.
