Photoshop Thread

I know we have both professional and amateur photo editors here in PPOT, and I thought we might like a thread to showcase their work.

Could be serious, pro grade editing. Or could be something funny. Whatever.
Just so long as it is YOUR OWN WORK!

Any interest?

(Okay, these are not MY work, but are provided as samples of what I'm talking about.)

A note: If you posted the pic in another thread, do not upload it again. That sucks up server space. Instead, get the image link from the original upload thread and just paste it here.

(image #2 and #3 are partly my work)

This is from one of my local PCA trips thru the foothills. This was my first try at photo-shopping anything. It wasn't done with photoshop - just microsoft photo editor. Can you spot the difference (hint, we were stopped for a bathroom break):

+1 to Joe! I know removing lines can be tedious.

Tim - these aren't pictures that you have taken. These are pictures that you have altered. I originally envisioned a thread full of comic stuff - like Tabs shaking hands with Bush, or hovercars in DC... but I'm also liking the fine edit work I'm seeing here. Like Joes cleanup and Zoanas arty pic.

Anaglyph. Made with one image, used The Gimp to create 2nd view, then more Gimp to bring them together. Yes, you do need the red/blue glasses to see it properly.

Simple crop and filter:

In this one, the valley and mountains were very hazy. I applied a layer, adjusted the contrast, and brought forward the subject. Not perfect, but adequate.

edit: looks kind of crappy now that I saved it in a low-res version to upload here.

are you guys using the full blown photoshop or photoshop elements 6? one is $600+ and the other is $89 or something like that. I don't want to spend the big ones if I can get by for much less?

thanks for the guidance!

Unless they've neutered it, Elements will do 90% of what PS will do. It only is missing the really hardcore stuff that us laymen wouldn't understand anyways.

Another option, albeit with a much longer learning curve, is to download GIMP...it's free, does everything PS does, does it better, and is free. Did I mention it was free?

Thanks for the quick reply. Will GIMP run on apple Macbook Pro?

I know, I have too many questions.

Forget that, I just found the answer to my question.

The guy & girl - top row 2nd & 3rd from the left. Just a guess...

nostatic 08-05-2008 01:12 PM

between the two of you, you are 100% right. And 100% wrong. Individually you're 50% right ;)

LeeH 08-05-2008 01:15 PM

Women on the back row far right and guy second from the far left end on the back row.

svandamme 08-05-2008 01:23 PM

so i guess it's the top row, #1&2 from the left?
