This is of course what a T-Type should look like:

My old 1983 T-Type (with 85 EFI turbo motor)

My dad had one of those. It caught on fire in the driveway and burned in La Verne, CA in 1985. He went out and bought a MB 300D the next day.

Smokin is an understatement.

So I'm not the only one. :D

I also watch that biker show with the hot blond hostest.

T-Types came with hundreds of color and trim options, so it may be just a debadged hood or it could be the real thing.

Here's my GN. I have to show photos, it's the only fun car left in my corral. ;)

Here's my neighbor playing with my tools. ............ okay, not my neighbor, or my car.

Looks like shes about about to tighten some "nuts" with that ratchet!:D

Very nice, Terry. ( the GN too..)

Not long ago people here ripping on Michelle Smith, calling her a worn out, used up hag.

I watched some of the Lowrider show, it was on after the race I think. The 'host' only poses a few time and said maybe 10 words. I'm pretty sure Michelle Smith did all the commentary.

Nothing wrong with big wheels if done tastefully, but I'm biased:

OK, how many here have actually tried to drive any of the following:

1)- switched up Coupe DeVille on 13x7" reverses - full hydraulics - 2 pumps 4 dumps?

2)- DONK car with suspension lock out

My point is, they all are unsafe. A switched up car on 13x7's even on stock suspension is an unsafe turd, add hydraulics and it's a zigzagging unsafe turd that is now a fire hazard. They routinely break a-arms, ball joints, and crumple every panel behind the front fenders.

I know because my brother has said car. I've seen under DONK cars, have a few of them around here. Customizing? My A$$.

Does this sound like "workmanship" to you?

DONK- lock out the suspension to raise it. Same results, it's unsafe and it looks stupid.

You can't compare a bagged and properly dropped rod (and therefore roadworthy and MOST OF ALL SAFE) to something like a DONK car or anything the rap guys drive in general. I don't care what the streep peeps, it's all garbage, it's unsafe and it's strictly cosmetic.

I'm sure they rival that goofy show car that Danny mentioned in ride quality.

I'm certain if you pulled away the panels you won't see extended factory a-arms and butchered boxcar springs under there. I'd be more than willing to bet they are all notched and bagged and if not bagged thehy have coilovers with modern tubular a-arms for good geometry and ride.

those cars compared to the typical ghetto sled is like comparing fillet mingon to stir fried dog poop. Not even close.

You're making some BIG assumptions that every DONK/SLAB/Whatever is a typical ghetto sled. Yes, many that you see on the street are, but the ones that are being posted in pics? Probably professionally done.

and...who cares about the safely of a "typical ghetto sled"? They aren't really any worse than the dozens of other illegal and dangerous jalopies you see in any given week on any given road. At least the "typical ghetto sled" is pretty obvious from a block or two away, so you can give them a wide berth in case something important pops in their suspension, vs. that rat trap Honda driven by a 50 year old woman, which is just as ready to shoot an a-arm at your car at40mph...

Oh yeah...you cannot with a straight face tell me that those Boyd contraptions have a good ride...they were built for one thing, and one thing only...to make money lookin' good standin' still. You cannot have a good ride in any car when you're slammed like that.

So you don't care if the safety of the car matters? It does matter if it's on the street.

I've worked on enough of those POS cars to know that those aren't even close to the same league as what a pro built car with a custom frame can do- those mods are simply UNSAFE. The big money cars are engineered to sit like that, amazing what some tubing and a torch can do, and they are drivable at highway speeds- it looks crazy and STILL works. That's what makes it a big money car vs. a ghetto hack like pretty much the average DONK car.

My driveway a few years ago. No speculation, I worked and built plenty of domestics..

People with the money to build a proper custom car do not drive an '85 Caprice with 40" rims. They're the ones rolling in the brand new Escalade, Hummer, etc. '80s American iron with huge rims are straight ghetto, craftsmanship doesn't even enter in the equation.

This thing is badass. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1218205120.jpg

From the filename I assume it's a 1936 Delahaye. If so, this example looks better than the original. Excellent work.

Mine never caught fire nor burned. It was fast as balls though.

I saw this being built, actually two of them. Amazing, hand buillt parts, air ride suspension, very well done.
