Are there any honest people left?
I am so pissed off right now I need to vent. Last fall, I paid to have my boat winterized, the marina did not do it, and to make a long story short, I sued them and we settled for one grand. For the suit, I needed an expertise of the motor, so I took it to a reputable mechanic, he opened it, confirmed it had seized due to absence of antifreeze. I paid him $100 for his time (he took the heads off). Last evening, I went to pick up the boat after hours because I did not want to leave it on his lot, since I told him I was not going to do the repairs. Tonight, I was checking the inside, and I just found out he kept the heads and the carburetor !!!. Effen basteed imagined I was not going to notice or what? These are marine specific parts that are worth some coin, and that I would need if I find a replacement block. I trusted this guy, and now I have to go after him too???

o.k., so he took the heads off to inspect the damage. They are worth "some coin". Would you rather he just left them out on the seat in the boat? Jeezus, give him the benefit of the doubt before you try, convict, and execute him in front of a bunch of strangers on the internet. Call him, but lose the "I'm on to you, you thief!!!" attitude first.

 one of my customers called today to tell me that in the shipment that I sent him I mixed up a frame and sent him one of higher value. Thanks Mike Gieger/owner of Westlake Cyclery!

I like to think I am still honest, run a small buisness, and try to treat people the way I want to be treated, I have a chance to weasel someone everyday, and probably could double my income by doing so, but that is not how I was raised. I have several other buddies in the buisness as well, and they are all stand up guys too. I probably would have left all of your loose parts in the shop as well. Anyting left outdoors these days will be Stolen for scrap, +I would not want sealing surfaces etc... to rust. Give the guy a call, I bet he gives them right back. On the other hand, I used to rent from another small buisness. total crook, I saw him repaint cylinder heads, and sell them for new, but , he is in Jail now and lost his buisness.
