Las Vegas
I'm meeting a couple of good friends from Europe in Las Vegas for a few days. They're both vintage car racers and general "car guys".
Apart from the usual entertainment, can you guys recommend any good car-related activities. I've heard the Shelby factory is worth a visit — but anything else? Also, who does a good steak in Vegas these days?

You could hold court with "the rug merchant".

Imperial Palace Hotel used to have unique display of cars.
Ceasars Palace has a small store/display at the back of the forum. But the best motor sport stuff in Vegas is at LVMS. The place is amazing. It has everything you could want in motorsports (Large and small ovals, dirt track, road course and drag strip. There is something going on almost everyday.

I've been to Nero's in Caesar's Palace, would NOT recommend it.

The LVMS was a great tip Brew, but, sadly, absolutely nothing happening there on the dates we are there.

The Imperial Palace you need complimentary tickets or $10 each. I think you can get the comp. tickets at the IP.
For eating two places as shown to me by Tabs 1) Bellagio Buffet for lunch or dinner (get there around 4pm and get the dinner buffet at the lunch price. It is FAR superior to the other buffets, and 2) Jerry's Nugget several miles north of Fremont street on Las Vegas Blvd. Get the REAL Prime Rib, it's hands down the best, at an amazing price.

It ain't steak, but one of the best dim sum meals I've ever had was at the Chinese shopping center off Spring Mountain Rd. Jordi and Tabs can recommend something.

It has been a decade since I have been to LV...
But back in the day they had people handing out free comp tickets to the car show out in front of the casino... back then only a fool would pay to see the show... whenever we got bored we would wonder down there and see the show for free. Not sure if that is still the case. Back then they had a great collection of Dusenbergs as part of the display. Oh and out at state line Whiskey Petes had the Bonnie and Clyde death car on display, agian it has been a long time so check to see if it is still there.
