Glad you agree, Rick. I have done the work of a Compensation Analyst. That is, I have done statistical estimation around the 'elements' of a job and the range of pay rates for that work. Factors like required education, degree of danger, etc. are statistical predictors. A significant positive correlation. Sadly, "gender" is also a predictor. One factor that is a barrier in this market (the market of labor sellers and labor buyers) is mobility. The less mobility (like with waitresses and store clerks), the smaller the available market and the less efficiently the market works. What I am saying is that the more 'available' we are, the more we keep the market honest. Closer to the "pure competition' model. I figured you guys could get your hands around that principle.
