Update: I had someone at 911 dispatch listen to my call and check the plate number I gave with the plate number the CSO ran. Mismatch. She then ran the plate I actually gave and bingo - registered locally and connected with a Ford, which is the vehicle I identified.

Time to call the pit bulls in...as others have mentioned, the postal inspectors. Also a great idea to check with your bank, your credit cards, all of that...hopefully no financial info in the mail, but you never know.

Put a locked mail box out there. Have packages dropped off at your door. Tell the Post Office why.....you should get a return call from the Postal cops.

I've got a neighbor who is building around the corner from me, with a shared driveway. I think I'm going to talk to him about new, locking mailboxes for both of us.
