Toll road ticket

Driving on the toll road I have only used a few times and chatting with my passengers I missed the toll booth access road and blew right through. I know I got my pic took and will get a ticket in the mail soon. I am going to try to beg off as its my first offence and am really a nice guy so they should let me off with a warning , right? I was on the way back from visiting my sick sister at the hospital, should I include that in my begging.
I hate toll roads, California is the 5th largest economy in the world and they should have enough money to provide roads for us to travel back and forth to the hospital when necessary.

Toll roads are cash generators.
They want your money, not your story. Pay the fine and no more chatting while driving

Yup, cash revenuators. The bridges paid themselves off long ago, and now the revenue is thrown into the general fund like a pig into the gator pit.

First offense is usually only the price of the toll. Everyone has an ooops. Several years ago, I mailed a check for $.75.

I did the same thing outside of Chicago last spring and I went online, found the toll booth that I had "missed", sent them my VISA card info and paid the toll, no penalties or anything else. Not bad...

Also, avoid getting a speeding ticket on a Federally-controlled road (like the Natchez Trace Parkway or on an Air Force Base)...talk abour "revenue generating"!

Don't worry until you actually get a ticket in the mail.

California has NO money. More like the 5th largest debtor in the world.

You screwed up. Pay up.

I should have got a fasttrack account a few years ago but hardly use the toll roads except to go to my rental house in south county and to go to riverside. I didn't want to get an account
after I saw the application and how much personal info they wanted.
