Craigslist Insanity - $14K 944 N/A

Sometimes stuff pops up on Craigslist that's too good not to post...

$14K - '87 N/A that goes 160 and gets 35mpg. The first detail in the long list: "The car stereo consist of: Receiver from Wal-Mart ($110)..." Apparently it also comes with a train horn. No idea how many miles are on it, by the way.

I have a '95 Honda Civic for sale, $40k. I put $35k into it dog, so it's worth it right?

No, it's still a $3k Honda Civic.

160 mph 944, that's even better than a 165 mph '73S!

Very good point, perhaps it's the same party. That was a great thread!

Porsche-O-Phile 08-12-2008 03:37 PM

The speedo goes up to 160. That doesn't mean the car does.

Egads. The thought that I share the roads with people like this keeps me up at night...

Just read the 944 ad, that's actually kind of sad.

Some dude living in a trailer park, spending $900 for "custom speaker pods," $300 for an air horn setup (WTF?!?), $400 for a rear view camera and DVD player, $2200 (WTF X2) for subwoofers, driven by his $100 Walmart receiver, $500 for spark plug wires, etc. . . .

all dumped into a $3500 944.

Then thinking he can get $14K for it.

Kinda sad.

By the standards that guy uses, I should be asking $20k for my car...

Also, my 951 only does 155.

Where in the "F" can you find 4 spark plug wires (+ one for the disty) for $500????????????????

Maybe if he spent $49.99 for the set plus $450 for the crack he was smoking when he started throwing all of the $hit into the car.

At least he mentioned that he spent $49 for the t-belts!
