4x4 Turbo 400 Trans help ???

Anybody out there play with 4x4 chevy trucks??. My 90 k 3500 dually is just about due for a new trans. I have an earlier turbo 400 core that I want to rebuild, . This earlier trans came out of a82, and I think that it had an Iron transfer case, My later 90 Dually has an aluminum New Process. I used to be a tranny man, and I cant , for the life of me ,remeber if there was any difference in the tail shaft. I think It should be a direct bolt in . Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

It really depends what model you are talking about. I think that the 82 was probably an NP208 which is a chain drive. This should have a typical output shaft yoke and U-joint. The 90 might have the np241 which uses a slip yoke. When I changed my TH350 for a 700R4 I got the np241 as well. I made sure to get the rear drive shaft and all is good. Hope that helps.
