Did I just break my toe?

Hit it on a small Al step ladder. Hurts a lot.

Break or dislocate or making a right turn?

Moses 08-20-2008 06:58 AM

Pull on it. Hard.

craigster59 08-20-2008 06:58 AM

Time to call the Toe Truck? Just "body splint" it to the next toe, I think that's all you can do.

john walker's workshop 08-20-2008 06:59 AM

just tape it to the the next toe and tough it out until it heals. not much else you can do.

Are You Serious?

Most likely, tape it to the next toe that's about all you can do for it.

craigster59 08-20-2008 07:02 AM

So how many times did you say the "F' word when it happened?

Super_Dave_D 08-20-2008 07:02 AM

Man they look bad - did you hit all of them?

only once and then went on my way for the last 20 minutes, then it started to hurt. same as when I cut my face with a chain saw. the initial act didn't do much, but it hurt a wee bit more after a spell.

Rikao4 08-20-2008 07:05 AM

like Moses said, if you have the courage,
or contact Mule..he will gladly help.
Like Craig said...tape it , wear comfy shoes for a few weeks.

In the "old" days a broken or dislocated toe was "set" by pulling on it and realigning it. Then you tape your little toe to it's neighbor.

I did this once. Hurt like hell, but healed fine.

My OFFICIAL response is; Go see a doctor and let them figure it out.

onewhippedpuppy 08-20-2008 07:11 AM

Doctor will pull on it, splint it, tape it to the next one and charge you $1000. DIY, send $500 to Moses and you'll still be ahead.:p

Moses, my cut is $250.

Shaun @ Tru6 08-20-2008 07:24 AM

Thanks Moses! and thank you all for the great advice. need to get back to work.

Step 1: Tie some cord around your desk leg, then around the toe. Must be tight! Don't pull, just kick back. 3 times and it was straight and felt great (comparatively)

Step 2: wrap with some 1/2 inch Al bar stock.

thanks, just took a few Ibuprofen too, have the ice pack out.

They are great shoes, aren't they!

Rikao4 08-20-2008 07:37 AM

Shaun ,if you place the splint on the bottom (sole) you will be able to get some shoes on.
oh..it's going to change color...purple,blue with a tint of yellow is common.
