If you have a cell signal you don't need sat service. Just get wireless broadband, that's all it really is. A cell card for your computer - it even has it's own phone number.

I have the new Motorolla Q9C, I hook it up to my laptop by the usb cable and that thing is fast. (Not like the old Q) That may be an option, It was cheaper for me to go the smart phone route than to get an air card with another number.
The pnly drawback is that I cant use the phone while I am using it as a modem, but I spend too much time on the phone anyway. I spend too much time on line too so I guess it balances out.

Thanks - That's the way I'm leaning with Verizon....They have great coverage where I am, not so good with others companies the kind folks here have recommended....Gotta check out this Motorola thing now......
