Fire sale! Everything must go!

Pretty sad. Unlike the sale of several recent brands, Chrysler is trying to sell a Dodge product. Of course, it won't be a Dodge Viper for the new owner. Only $150M too, are they that desperate?

That's too bad. I really think a car brand like Dodge needs a halo product. People do buy Stratuses and Cobalts because they dream of Vipers and Corvettes. They'd even started taking a cue from Corvette and let their racing department handle most of the product development.

Is the Viper brand really worth anything to someone other than Dodge?

Carroll Shelby should buy the brand. He might be an old fart, but the man still knows a thing or two about cars . . .

he surely knows a thing or two about squeezing every last dollar out of his notariety too!

i guess racing doesn't sell cars like it used too? i understand the vipers actually have to be reigned in a bit to compete in their classes.

only personal experience with the car is via Forza and GT2,3. Couldn't drive that thing for *****.

I remember going to the Detriot auto show the year the Viper was a concept car. My buddy and I were mesmerized by it. And the production car is pretty true to the concept vehicle. We were like... "Damn to bad they'll never make it"!!
I hope it doesn't die a slow death. I'm in for $1000.00

Think Waynes ready to start building cars? Seems he already has a large amount of willing stock holders.

I don't think the traditional Viper owner would like the PP version.

You are right. It would already come equipped with twin turbos stock and have 1200hp rolling out of the dealership's showroom floor.

You know better than that!

It's cheaper to buy a 951 instead. Buy mine!

Someone just needs to put a bullet into Chrysler. The Govt should have refused to go along with Iaccoca's corp welfare/bailout, and let it die a natural death a long time ago.

Chrysler paid us back.

I think we need more than 1 or 2 US carmakers.

The Co. I work for was involved in all that as a supplier back then. We helped Chrysler out also, as I'm sure many other suppliers did.
