Im just wondering what this event will be like, fun...cool cars?

It looks like its gonna be pretty cool but ive never been to such a race... hoping to see vintage ferrari's, porsche, etc.... but I cant tell if such cars will be there

It'll be a great event, tons of interesting cars, even though the featured Marque is Triumph this year.

I'm going to try to make it.

I go every year, lots of Porsche's to see! from 356's to 935's and everything in the middle! there was a beautiful 904 there two years ago that I would love to own! the 908 was something to see as well. Friday night is a great time when they do the race down main street like the old days!

It is a blast -- last year the featured marque was BMW, and I took the 2002. Great cars/people watching in the village itself, and then just go set up shop next to the track!

I would say Saturday is probably best, as many folks leave earlier on Sunday. But you can't go wrong, frankly.

If you see a very very white Alfa Boattail or a deep blue BMW 2002, wave. Not sure which is going to make the trip.

Regards

JP

I went to this a couple of years ago when they celebrated Mark Donoghue. Really great event. Tons of cars of all types. The SVRA runs different groups there are always a ton or corvettes, porsches, etc. At the event I went too there were a bunch of lolas, Chevrons, Mustangs, Cobras, etc. I would think this is the premier SVRA event on the East Coast.

I couldn't beleive how friendly everyone was, you have access to basically everything except the hot pits. I highly recommend the event.

Berretafan- I went to the SVRA event at NJ motorsports park the other week and was disappointed at the turnout. Don't know if was the newness of the park or the economy but I would say it had one quarter of the cars of the watkins glen event. But of course those Legendary Motor Car guys (Peter Klut) were there. Those guys are everywhere it seems. Peter Klut had a little run in with another car. He came out on the losing end of it, but was still able to race on.

For those of you who go, head on over to Ithaca for dinner after the races. Nice, rolling half-hour drive through bucolic farmland. It's like a roller coaster, even if you're making the trip in a Buick. Some nice restaurants down in the Commons (including the Moosewood), but the pizza at The Nines up in Cornell's Collegetown is the best.

*bump*

anyone else going?

i'm leaving ATL on the 3rd and hooking up with three 356s that are headed to the East Coast Holiday. The MG and I will split off from them at Harrisburg and head north to the Glen.

I hope you locals arrange some good weather.
