Kurt V...Thanks!

Your suggestion of buying a prepaid T mobil cell for my upcoming road trip worked well.

Of course, I had to enlist the aid of a tech junkie neighbor to use the thing. I can now place calls and receive voice mail. All I wanted to do.

The instruction manual assumes prior cell phone ownership. Not good.

Imagine a time travel thing...some guy pulls up next to an 1840's cowboy, tosses him the keys to a car, and says: "Here...take it for a spin".

That is how I was, initially. Thanks to neighbor David who told me which keys to push and in what order.

The party on this board can begin soon. Beginning sometime early next month (no real start date from the contractor) I'll be offline for 2 weeks to a month...maybe 6 weeks.

I'll miss you guys (and girls) while the chaos of a kitchen remodel goes on. But don't feel sorry for me....I'll be on a search for the perfect pool table at various locations throughout the Northwest...

First stop probably here. Rumor has it that there are a couple of antique Brunswicks in one of their bars:

So the remodeling is about to begin? Have a good trip.

You should have gotten an iPhone so you could stay in touch with PPOT.

Paul I was chuckling as I pictured you with the owner's manual trying to get your phone to work. Have fun on the trip and take some pictures!

Hoot! Haven't gotten around to figuring out how to use the digital camera we were given. Maybe on a future date? I sometimes envy those born after the computer chip came along. So many things I don't have a clue how to operate.

The silver lining to this? Nobody will catch me driving & text messaging at the same time. We passed a young guy in a new beetle ragtop (chick car if there ever was one) not long ago...doing exactly that.

Bob, thanks for the very kind offer...afraid I don't plan on going that far north or east...feel a need to stay closer to home in case I'm really needed. Sure is beautiful up there, though! Is the "Northern Exposure" bar still around?

Yes sir, Northern Exposure bar is the Brick Tavern in Roslyn, been there forever. My cabin is another 4 miles past it.....Good luck.....

Damn...always wanted to go there, but not on this trip. Oh well, I doubt that "maggie" hang out there these days. Bob, seriously...I appreciate the offer.
