Anyone else on their computer in their garage?
You may have noticed that I post here often. In the summer, I then to post from the PC in my garage while the kids are in the pool, dog is in the yard, family is all outside enjoying the nice weather. When I'm not driving the 911, I tend to hang out in the "man cave" and my PC is connected to the Internet via Ethernet and DSL. I have an underground conduit with Ethernet that we ran a few years ago when we installed the pool. anyone else post here from their garage? Just curious... Here's the "man cave"

I work from home as a national sales manager for a large company. My office is in my garage. Computer, printer, etc....all in my heated and cooled insulated 28' x 32' garage...even have a toilet, sink, coffee maker and microwave....all within feet of my motorcycle, car, tools, air compressor, etc. Works out great since I'm out of the house when working (no dogs barking, kids, etc.). It's great being on my Plantronics headset for conference calls while cleaning the bike or fiddling with something on the workbench.
Man cave, indeed!

Yep, evenings and weekends I spend as much time as possible in the shop. Last year I finally got radio tower transmitter based internet service out here in the boonies where DSL and cable are not offered. I put a wireless router in the garage window of the house and it just barely makes it out here to my laptop.

Not yet, but considering it! It would make sense also for tech info while working on the car. Tom

Will be by December. Waiting for this house to sell, moving to the retirement B4 winter regardless. Garage is 48 X 32. Already has a big wooden desk, DishNetwork TV and a computer (wireless).....Now, debating on a conventional chair or taking the power "lift" recliner I was given; that's not allowed in the house (or cabin even!).......

I've got a dedicated computer work bench as well as several wired network connections in the garage. Just don't spend much time there in the summer... 90 deg. with 90% humidity... ugh
