Anybody tried "Google Chrome" yet?

New web browser.

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/09/02/BU0V12MF8J.DTL

http://www.google.com/chrome

Curious to hear if it gets good reviews.

Interesting feel. It is fast...

It would be nice if you open a new tab and it actually displayed, rather than open in the background.

I like it so far.

We'll see.

Not my default browser, yet.

It's lighter with memory (than FF), but it opens a new instance under Task Manager with each new tab. It has a ways to go before it's up to IE an FF, but it's a good start.

It does that so you can crash a tab/window without bringing down the whole browser app.

Mac and Linux folks have to wait a bit to get our go at it.

But, Chrome is built on Apple's Safari WebKit application framework, FWIW.

Using it right now. I agree it's fast. It will take some getting used to.
I like the tab feature at the top.

I was going to download it and install it on one of my Windows boxes, but stopped dead when I read the terms and conditions in the Chrome EULA.

I may download the source code later and edit and compile, but only after I know what is going on under the covers.

Good grief - just read the eula. This from the people who bought doubleclick, think they are entitled to scan your gmail for content, and have been trespassing to photograph private property.

it's very fast, so far the only annoyance i found, was that you can accidently close the whole browser when there's multiple tabs open... and have found no way to make it prompt or warn me about it...

i never liked tabs in FF or IE, because of the way it's organized, but Chrome does it in a way that just makes sense... on top. not below menu's and adress bars...

FWIW, Google is

"working quickly to remove language from Section 11 of the current Google Chrome terms of service. This change will apply retroactively to all users who have downloaded Google Chrome."

The biggest thing missing for me is AdBlock... won't use Chrome until it's available.
