A Black Man vs a Woman

It's a topic that most in the media dodge, especially in regards to Obama's race. But it should be addressed. SEPERATE FROM THEIR POLICIES, which do you think America is more ready for? Because God knows there are pockets of our society that don't want to see either. It may not be voiced, but which do you think there is more opposition to?

Based on your question, I'd have to say neither. These days, I truly believe that it depends on the individual, not race or sex.

The old white man has more opposition based on his look and manner than anyone running in this election, but I am not answering the question...

I would say the black guy is at a disadvantage compared to the woman. That if we consider those "pockets"..

But that being stated - if you look at the hard core few that would not vote for a black man or a woman - I would say that is more than compensated by black folks who are very excited about this election and look forward to voting for a black man if only for symbolic reasons that they see as important, or woman (to a lesser degree) who would cast a vote for the same reasons.. So it is a wash.

Personally, if you can step away from the politics of the situation, it's groundbreaking either way. No matter who wins, there will be a black man or white woman as the president or vice president. We really have come a LONG way.

I think that there is more opposition to a black man as president than a white woman. I think the seeds of racism are sown deeper than those of sexism. I think that there will be a worry by some that a black man will prefer blacks and punish whites. We have come a long way, but racism is still alive and well in America.

But here's one mans take, with a different slant:

If you look strictly at demographics (removing as you stated, political leanings) and actual voting/population 'numbers', you get; old white men, later on a woman, eventually a male of Mexican descent, ...etc.

The cross-over vote is always a toss up.

Very good point. No doubt this election will draw black Americans to vote that haven't previously voted before. I believe this has been reflected in a number of polls. Time will tell us if it has the same effect on female voters.

I think once a lot of people get into the voting booth that say they are for Obama will end up voting for the white guy.

Okay, my answer was based on my personal belief...I'd never vote for Obama, but this is based on his belief in socialism. I'd never vote for Hillary for the same reason.

But..I'd vote for Walter Williams in a heartbeat, ditto a conservative woman..of any color. IMHO, tho she is now retired from the State Senate here...one of the BEST state legislators Oregon ever had was Mae Yih...an Asian Democrat. A naturalized citizen from China. A maverick...she never voted for a tax hike and worked hard to help constituants having problems with the state government. She got my vote over republican opponents many times.

So...within myself? The prejudices you suggest aren't there...no lie.

I honestly believe that the prejudices you suggest will be a non factor in the upcoming election. I believe there is only only a small percentage of voters who believe those factors matter, and the ones who do are aging out...dying off. Those times are gone...

Totally agreed. If we were facing an election of having Colin Powell vs Hillary Clinton the results would be opposite.

While blacks vote for other blacks almost to the person, women are not the same. Some women would vote for a woman based on the sisterhood of the vagina thing, but lots are quick to attack another woman. Advantage Black.

While lying to the contrary, democrats have little to no use for women, except dykes. Advantage black.

Virtually all leftwing moonbats are so eat up with white guilt they can barely breathe. But there's not that many of them. Advantage woman.

Among men, while some white men may have issues with blacks, a much larger number of men of both colors have had a woman try to ruin their life in divorce court. Advantage black.

Conclusion, blacks face less resistance.
