Roadrunner, Bugs and the Coyote
Why in the world can't I find these cartoons on my TV?!
I WANT TO WATCH THEM and the best I can find is "BABY Loony Tunes" Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!! |
too violent.
i worked for warner's classic ten years ago. was sitting out front having lunch with the receptionist named cindy. she fielded a call from an enraged mother who's toddler had somehow just seen an unedited three bears cartoon. if you don't remember the three bears, they were six minutes of pure child abuse and wife beating jokes. cindy wanted to help, but told the mother she wasn't sure where to direct the call as all the people who made it were dead now. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1220804422.jpg you can get them on dvd. but be careful. even some of them have been cut up. |

Nothing in the world better than classic Looney Tunes and Three Stooges. Modern cartoons SUCK!
|
the three bears....yeah...I remember them.
=-) |
Do you have Tivo? My daughter loves Tom and Jerry, and we tivo it for her. It is on at goofy times...
Bill |
I do - Tom and Jerry is not what I am after. I don't understand how that could be on over The RR&C...
I mean seriously Jabberjaw is on but not Looney Tunes? The world is a bad place to be right now. |
LOL. In this day and age, some people will complain about Spongebob Squarepants as being to violent, etc. That's just the pu$y age we live in.
RR, Bugs, etc. would never fly with in these "bubble wrap" times. Their violence, rudeness, sarcasm, lack of feeling for others make Spongebob look like Mother Theresa. |
If television stations continued to play that old, classic stuff, then
The Contemporary, Ferrari-drivin, cigar-suckin new owners of all of the television stations wouldn't be able to collect the residuals and royalties on Those NEWLY created cartoons, for which they have negotiated a portion of the rights. That quarterly mailbox-money-check for doing nothing supports their habit for fancy cars and whoores. I wish I could select "Half Green" as a color. |
Mike, I just bought my 5YO son a DVD at our local mall store, FYE.
It has some but not all of the classic Bugs Bunny cartoons on disc1. Disc 2 has some of the other characters that were part of the Looney Toons gang. Foghorn, Marc Anthony the dog, etc. What I have found is that they were very un-PC but funny as he!!. In "Knighty Knight Bugs" Yosemite Sam has a fire breathing dragon that catches a cold and sneezes at the worst times. A line of Sam's is when the dragon stops fast and Sam slides on the back bumps right onto his buttocks. He gets up and says "Stupid Dragon". That cracks me up everytime. |
I too think the new toons suck, and the closes I have found is Boomerang
http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_shows/boomerang/ Here is another site to download them http://emol.org/movies/cartoons/ My phone also has a classic cartoon Chanel:D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1220811474.jpg |
WHile out mowing the lawn I thought of another classic I am going to try to find....
The Ant and the Aardvark from Pink Panther. Anybody remember who di the aardvark voice? I can see his face but can't out it with his name. Strong Jewish? accent with afro style hair. Looked like a troll doll. Marty something? |
They are on up here however they have been edited to death.
|
Boomerang shows old Hanna-Barbera cartoons, and some more modern like Pinky and The Brain, Animaniacs, Dexter's Lab, etc. Classic Looney Tunes will need to be bought on DVD.

Still better than the crap most stations are currently airing. I still think is funny that I can get Looney Tunes on my phone, but not cable:eek: I can also get Rocky & Bullwinkle. |
Once in a great while I still get that song from Felix the Cat stuck in my head for an entire day. I even remember Hercules and Top Cat and sing those once in a while. How about Davey and Goliath?
|
You can still get them....
This is the set I bought about a year ago. http://www.amazon.com/Looney-Tunes-Golden-Collection-One/dp/B0000AYJXS/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1220829651&sr=8-2 |

Davey and Goliath is still on one of the local PBS stations. Not something I used to watch alot as a kid but I do remember it.
Saturday morning cartoons rocked!!!!!!! The 70's were a unique time just as the 60's were to the guys a generation before us. Is it me or were things simpler back then? I don't mean to turn the direction of the thread but with my son being 5 the innocence of youth is quite apparent. |
