i know some folks DIY glassbedding. i dont think i can do it. the approach describe above is spot on. you need to secure the action, and leave the barrel free. i would glue the thing togther permanently. that releasing agent is super important. sorry, i cannot remember how much i paid.

your rifle may already be free floated. can a dollar bill be inserted the entire length of the barrel? you can buy a aftermarket stock that has alum inserts bedded into the contact points. i believe that gives the same benefits?

I got my Remington for my SIG Pro 2340 plus $150 cash. The SIG was probably worth $400-$450, but I absolutely stole it for $440 and a ton of extras and ammo. So I really had around $200 into it and so have about $350 into the rifle. Five min. after I got it, another guy offered me $700 for it and I could have done that and then gone right back to buy the CZ. But I had that voice telling me "this is my rifle, there are many like it, but this one is mine." When I get that feeling about something, I know to never let it go.

Very nice. I am just finishing building my 22-250 pdog gun. I started with a Stephen's SA in 22-250 (with the exception of the accu-trigger) its the same as the Savage. I bought the Stock and new Douglas XX barrel from Sharp Shooter Supply.

The stock is slick, adjustable comb, laminate.

Wow! That's quite a rifle! Way over my head on knowledge of rifles. Just learning my way around them. I've always had a shotgun, but growing up in Ohio, you can't hunt with a rifle in most areas so I never had any experience with them. Now that I have moved here to tractorfordchevyville in W. PA. two years ago, I'm learning a whole new kind of shooting that I enjoy a lot. I'm really not a hunter, but I go out "Hoggin" with my brother in law who is a farmer. Beans and corn, acres of it. When I saw what those lil bastards do to a bean field....it was fare game. Livestock can break legs in the holes plus it makes it hard for the combine to get over. They really are a nuisance. We have taken 27 this year so for from just one small field of his. I love my .25-06 but we're not shooting 400 yrds. I just thought it was over kill. Now some of these boys are big but not deer size!

I have to tell ya'll that I went out with it tonight and the first bullet down the barrel was a kill at about 100 yrds. Right where I put the shot! Nice!
