Reston, VA - North Dakota and Montana have an estimated 3.0 to 4.3 billion barrels of undiscovered, technically recoverable oil in an area known as the Bakken Formation.

A U.S. Geological Survey assessment, released April 10, shows a 25-fold increase in the amount of oil that can be recovered compared to the agency's 1995 estimate of 151 million barrels of oil.

"Technically recoverable" sounds like code words for "very expensive to recover". This Bakken formation is not a new thing. What are the actual costs with recovering this oil? If this is such a no-brainer, why aren't we doing it?

Hmmm. Looking in either direction (towards the White House and back towards the Capitol), I'd have to agree with you.

Does Mule look like Exxon to you? Shell? BP? Your statement is more stupid than amusing. You wouldn't be the smartest guy in Flat Rock Alabama.

So.... There telling us about the discovery of undiscovered oil?

I must be the dumbest guy in Flat Rock, because that makes no sense to me. And I'm not even close to Flat Rock.

Then why are you whining about this oil? If, for whatever reason you can't/won't do something about it, just STFU.

Were you born like this or have you had to work at it?

I have yet to see Jim post anything that was intended to do anything other than simulate a hemorrhoid.

What about Jim & Speedy in the steel cage grudge match?

Thank you for straightening me out, Trekkor. I'll let Mule rant and whine without taunting him anymore.

503 billion barrels roughly equals 25.1 cubic miles!

Or a barrel that would be 2 miles in diameter and 8 miles high. Hmmm.

No problem

Jim, I'd like to have a serious conversation with you someday.
You seem to have a lot of experience.

Mule doesn't know a thing about oil, yet he posts endlessly about it here. Guys like him are ruining the signal-to-noise ratio of PPOT, and are one reason I spend less and less time here.

Rather than point out what you think I know or dont know, why don't you just correct the inaccuracies.
