On my way to Vegas BABY! What to see?
Just booked some Vegas time at the end of the month. Last time I was there was twice last year and we had a blast.
Anyway my wife found out that my Mom's life long dream was to see Cher live; so for her "big" birthday we gave her a trip to Vegas with front & center seats. We're all going down for 5 days. (My wife, my Mom and I - OMG!!) Gonna be a little mellow with Mom along; ha, ha; but she deserves it and is thrilled to death about it all. Was thinking about taking in Circus Olay and Momma Mia shows too; but thought I'd ask some hounds here what they think would be a must see while there? We stayed at Mandala Bay before, but will likely try something different this time. Maybe Caesars? Cheers! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

My last trip we stayed at the Venetian - very nice rooms, but a really big hotel; easy to get lost there, IMO. I don't think you could go wrong at Caesar's either.
Mama Mia is a great show and we also saw Cirque de Soleil's "Love" - it's a Beatle's tribute; it's excellent too. I'd recommend both. Have fun! Best, |

A buddy just took his wife to see Cher last month, said it was great, they also saw that guy who did the show about nothing & Wayne Newton (said his voice is gone, waste of time).
Great place to collect Stripper Trading Cards ![]() Enjoy your self!!!

after seeing cher, you're going to need to reclaim a little of your masculinity. i would advise the machine gun range.

Zumanity is excellent entertainment if you're into the flexible hot topless women flying around the theater kind of scene.
In terms of places to stay - this is a bit unconventional but our favorite by far is the Four Seasons, which is inside the Mandalay Bay but has private lobby, elevators, pool, restaurants, spa, etc. You get five star service and peace and quiet, but can literally walk through a door and you're at the Mandalay Bay and its scene...

The Wynn is the only place to stay IMHO.

Are you going to see the Foo Fighters at the Hard Rock on the 26th?

Breakfast at Peppermill. Any Cirque de Soleil show is good. Caesar's has everything you need. Imperial Palace has a cool car museum...with a 911E last time I was there 6 mo ago. Take a ride on the top of the Stratosphere, but don't walk to it; take a cab or you might get shot along the way.
Don't waste your time by leaving the strip......because there truely is nothing else to Vegas. Tract homes and strip malls. Have fun.

See Tabs, he's worth the time. Eat lunch or dinner buffet at the Bellagio, accept no substitutes. Go to Jerry's Nugget a few miles up the strip from old Las Vegas, the prime rib is the best in town and 1/2 the price of anywhere on the strip.

Ahh Vegas.
I just like to walk around and people watch. More freaks per square foot than anywhere else in the world that I've found. I always enjoy going to the Belagio's Conservatory early in the morning. Less traffic.

Hawktel, you obviously have never been to NYC...at night.
Anyway, all these suggestions are good. If you are looking for some things to do outside of vegas take a ride to the hoover damn, rent a car and drive to the valley of fire state park. Take a helicopter ride to the west rim of the grand canyon. Don't get me wrong I love the 'scene' of vegas as much as anyone (maybe more :-) but I also can't stand not to drive for 5 days. I've rented from these guys before http://http://exoticcarrentalslasvegas.com/car-rental-rates.html |

Cher: Awesome! Great Show.
Momma Mia: Very good, would go again. Criss Angel: Terrible waste of money; people were walking out. Helicopter to Grand Canyon: Excellent Gambling: they dont call it "Lost Wages" for nothing! No luck. Food: Awesome! Poolside: brushed up the tan nicely ![]() Cheers! ![]() |

Didn't I see you at the Bellagio Buffet Thursday evening around 5 PM....I will never tell what made me remember seeing your face....
What is ironic is that the guy sitting at the next table to me at the buffet was a guy I had sat next to about a year ago in about the same seat. I just remember him because of how meek and mild he looked.
