One big gun

I have been lurking around this form looking for ideas of what to do with my Remington 870 HD shotgun and stumbled across this, thought the gun nuts here would enjoy it:

Is that an AR-50? That's what I have my eye on.

Nope, it's a friend's Barrett M99.

I have my eye on an M82, but it's unlikely that'll ever happen.

I've kicked around the .50 thing, but I just don't see me shooting it that much. The closest range that lets you shoot them around here is over an hour away.

I know my local range won't let me shoot a .50. I just don't know how to find a range that will.

Heck Chris...
I know it's a drive, but your more than welcome to put a few through mine
I have a buddy with a bunch of farm land, we have 1/2 and 3/4 mile lines set just for the .50

That's easy!

Take gun, go to range, fire one shot. If they don't boot you immediately, you've found your range! If they do, drive down the street to the next range, and repeat step 1 It's not like they're going to rough you up or anything, you're packing a .50 fer christ's sake!

Nick, we are going to have to have a range outing some time.

It's probably going to be a few years (at minimum) before I get a .50. I need a bigger safe to keep one in...and I have no room for another gun safe in my current house, so I need a bigger house for a bigger safe. I need to do some work on my house before I can put it up for sale, and I need to remove some expensive distractions (like the 951) to make time/free up capital to allow for that. Sadly, it seems like everyone is in a holding pattern for big purchases right now, so I'm having a hard time selling the car.

"I'm visister here and it's nice site.
Two others and I made a long brass 12ga case.
We made brass from bmg cases adding 12ga size rims.
We testing it in heavy barreled guns and
are getting huge energy levels. In a beefed up
Savage 210 we got 730 gr slug to 2900 fps.
Got a NEF chambered for long 3.85" case. And it
has beefed up hammer for bmg primers used in our case.
Got 2500 fps with 600 gr slug, cases eject out real easy,
8300 ft lbs from an NEF with 24 inch barrel. Dr Rob
Garnick in your state put one in a big Borchardt falling
block action with heavy barrel. Here is picture of the
Savage.Ed."

WTF?
