Favorite Chocolate/Candy Shootout!
And I'm not talking about the fancy, schmancy stuff...I'm talking about the stuff you can get at your local Rite-Aid or Shell station.
I'm not a big candy guy, but a couple of months ago, I tried the Dark Chocolate M&M's (non-Peanut) and, although I enjoyed them, they bordered on being too rich for me. Today, I have discovered my 'place' finisher in the 'favorite candy race', second only to the Mounds Chocolate bar (a delicious combination of dark chocolate, coconut, and almonds...IMHO, it is simply unbeatable): Dark Chocolate Peanut M&M's...These things rock! PS...I have purchased my first 4 pack of Old Rasputin Stout due to a post by serge944 in the "I forget to drink" discussion; any observations while still sober will be notated there tomorrow...I know; you'll all be holding your breath, I'm sure...

Being from the UK my favourite is The UK made Cadbury's Dairy Milk Chocolate. The Cadbury's made in the USA by Hershey is totally different.
That is very hard to find here, so to to be fair I will have to say my favorite 'gas station available' candy would be a Kit-Kat Extra Crispy. The white chocolate version of those that were available a while back were really good too. Oh, and then there's Toblerone....

You have piqued my interest though...love the boutique candy stores. I live a couple hours from Solvang, CA., which is it's own little chocolate paradise...

[QUOTE=Uber-fanatic;4188807]How soon before Chevron starts carrying MOOTZ's Peanut Rolls?!?!
Wouldn't that be great! I get them online from Pottsville for special treats and special occasions (I grew up with them). It can get a little pricey with the shipping, but worth it every now and again. Tom

When I was in the Netherlands years ago, Droste chocolate was everywhere, and very yummy. It's available in a lot of grocery stores here, but it's pricey.
A while back I was given an 11 lb bar of Schokinag semi-sweet chocolate (for baking). I prefer dark chocolote, but who in their right mind would turn down 11 lbs of chocolate??? This reminds me that I need to use it before it goes rancid...

These look pretty good as well...
black diamonds might have to order myself some... Alright, back on topic! The point of this post was to offer a new candy discovery that everyone could benefit from this evening...on the drive home if they wanted! Mass marketed delights only, no more of this "Well my aunt Sandy Loo used to make a peanut brittle that was to die for!!" nonsense... ![]()

I apologize I know this is "fancy" chocolate.
But if it ain't See's it ain't worth wasting the calories on (for me anyway)! Nothing better than a good bottle of Zinfandel, a good cigar, and a box of See's dark chocolates.

+1 million .......cavities
My wife buys me these in a tin for my birthday every year. I eat them almost as fast as I can unwrap them. I pack my molars so full of the butternut toffee I can't close my teeth. Gawd, now I have one hell of a craving and my birthday is 11 months away. LOL ![]() Last edited by TerryH; 09-18-2008 at 02:21 PM.. |

Almond Roca is unbeatable.
Heath bars are pretty good. I once noticed that Dark Chocolate Milky Way bars are pretty good, but I really don't eat much candy. But yeah, Almond Roca.
