+1..old hollywood, they were more conservative and less outspoken. Nowadays, most all stars spout off on everything

I've worked closely and personally with a few. Most recently Ewan MacGregor (a hell of a nice guy), Henry Winkler (Fonzie), Geena Davis, Kyra Sedgwick (Kevin Bacon's Wife), Robert Mitchum (RIP), Christian Bale(nice, intense, hates dumba$$e$) and 2 that will get me in trouble here but really nice guys, George Clooney and Alec Baldwin.

craigster59 09-24-2008 05:56 AM

Oh, and Tom Hanks and Gary Sinise as mentioned are 2 great guys.

dawn wells.

Well, all the uber-conservatives here will ***** on me, but Bono. Has the right combination of celebrity pull, finances AND knowledge of his subjects to really make a difference. Come to think of it, I'd put Bill Gates in the same category.

legion 09-24-2008 07:50 AM

Bono is just a big #2.

Christien 09-24-2008 07:51 AM

I can't say how shocked I am that you disagree with me.

Zef 09-24-2008 07:51 AM

John Mellencamp and Sheryl Crow

Neither of them are even close to 'conservative' (if that's what you meant).

They are both VERY liberal, but not screaming.

He also donated more than $250 million to charity through the Newman's own brand.

A stark contrast to Jane Fonda who announced that 100% of the proceeds from her exercise videos would be donated to charity. After the video sales started to grow dramatically, she restructured the corporation and kept the bulk of the profits for herself.

i know that..but it is ok to be liberal...it is obnoxious to be like say Rosie O' Donnel or Tim Curry liberal...see the difference?
These guys all want change, as do I, but they prove that you don't have to be some stupid commentary on that change

AFAIK Hanks can go pack sand since his recent public support of a certain person who is applying and interviewing for a very high level position of considerable global power and responsibility. Did that get through the filter? ;)

As I have not really met many celebrities, I don't have that strong of an opinion. I did however play youth football with Dan Quayle's oldest son. He was very down to earth, and even after becoming the VP, we stayed in contact.
